A kindergarten can be messy and unorganized. Fret not, 16boxes shelfs can curb the messiness quickly! Toys can be easily sorted into the boxes for an organised storage solution as well as the whole box can be taken out and placed on the carpet for play sessions.

The names on the boxes where each child can recognise their box allows them to share their own toys with others while learning about responsibility.

The playful and easy assembly of the shelf could also be a part of a game, which is fun for both young and old. ⚡️

We recently asked our customers, in which room they placed their 16boxes. The result, everywhere! Workspace, Bedroom, Living room, hallway, kitchen, and even in the nursery.

What makes 16boxes such a good furniture for the nursery? You can store toys quickly and organized. All content is immediately visible and you always know whats inside. You can take the boxes to the floor and sit down and play. And yes, every child can have his or her own box. Available in many inspiring colors!

All 16boxes variations are made from PEFC certified wood with eco-friendly varnish, making it a safe option for interior space in general , and the nursery in particular. 🌱

How to make the production of 16boxes shelves even more sustainable and efficient?

This question has been bugging us for some time and I mentioned it rather occasionally to Sebastian Ernst from .office. It didn’t take long until we carved this quest into a workshop format together with Prof. Manuel Kretzer from the Materiability Research Group of Hochschule Anhalt in Dessau.

Together with a focused group of students, we will develop furniture concepts from the wood waste taken from our production line. Even though 16boxes uses only 50-75% of ressources compared to other shelving systems, there is still a percentage of wood, which cannot be used further for 16boxes elements. But for what other products could it be used?

Right next to the Bauhaus in Dessau, we will for the next two weeks explore this question together with .office and and a select group of Design M.A.’s. And maybe we will soon have new sustainable designs “on the shelf”. 😉

I am very grateful and excited about this collaboration and look forward to share here the results and progress for the next two weeks!
