The collection includes chairs, stools, tables, swivel chairs and lounge chairs. With more than a century of history, Wilde+Spieth has developed into an international design company with a collection that celebrates unique masterpieces. The famous German architect Egon Eiermann has played an important part in the development of our aesthetics and values when he exclusively started to produce his f

urniture with Wilde+Spieth in 1949. Since then, elements like function, design, quality and comfort go hand in hand – modern classics appreciated by architects, stylists, designers and design lovers worldwide. Fine craftmanship is one of our core principles for good design and no compromises are made to ensure the best possible quality of our products. Therefore, our designs are detail-focused, hand-made and the production as well as the origin of our wood are limited to Germany and Austria. Besides our iconic chair collection for home, office and hospitality, we have designed chairs for a wide range of classical orchestras and became specialists in catering to the particular needs of musicians. From the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg over the Metropolitan Opera in New York – our orchestra line can be found all over the world. Instantly recognisable in its distinctive silhouette, Egon Eiermann’s SE 68 Multipurpose Chair continues to quietly claim its status as a Mid-century icon. A tubular steel frame complements an organically shaped seat and backrest made of moulded wood—SE 68 was the first chair model in Germany to combine these materials. To give furniture a ‘human dimension’ was Eiermann’s goal, and as all those who have experienced the chair’s ergonomic comfort can attest to, no-one fulfilled this aim as elegantly as the prescient architect himself. SE 68 can be customised with upholstery and armrests on request.

XDGA Architects designed the House of Province of Antwerp as a sculptural building that opens up to a public park. The compact, rotating volume bridges over a retained pavilion while its triangulated window forms and white glass mosaic facade give the building a distinctive presence. Our SE 68 chairs in stained green with chrome frame and SE 68 SU stackable chairs in stained black with leather upholstery complement the interior’s precise and contemporary character.

The SB 38 Bar Stool offers a sophisticated yet stable seating option not only for bars within hospitality settings, but countless everyday occasions within the home or office. Adding a loftier dimension to the compact and comfortable base design of the S38/S1, the bar stool’s four slender legs are each affixed to the solid wood seat by a smooth-topped screw and united by a circular footrest for optimal comfort and posture. SB 38 is available in two heights to fit counters or bars.

The development of the SE 42 was the first seating furniture collaboration between Egon Eiermann and Wilde + Spieth. Eiermanns wanted to develop the SE 42 chair (then SE 3) exclusively from molded, mountable plywood parts. The novelty of form, material and production method caused a comprehensive development process. The seat turned out to be the biggest challenge. The complexity of its shape and Eiermann’s aspiration to keep the bending radius of the seat front as small as possible, took the production to the limits of feasibility. Nevertheless the enduring process has paid off in many ways; seat and backrest were used in several following products – like the SE 68.
