It’s been ages since we’ve posted and we won’t be opening another store. Duane’s injuries from being run down and then run over by a car have not improved but are as bad or worse then they every have been. I am going to delete this group in the next couple of days. Duane does some buying and selling including mattresses. I usually post them under my name in Carleton County Classifieds If that interests you follow me so you see my public posts. Sometimes they are posted under Duane’s fb account. Yes the world is coming to an end. Duane has a fb page. 😂

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

So we closed Mattresses and Furniture Direct and Duane's Furniture almost a year ago. In that time we've talked to many of you who say's they miss the store. We appreciate those comments, it makes us feel good. So we live in Richmond Corner and we built a multi-family home. But our son has now moved out and we were thinking we'd rent out his apartment in the basement which is a walk out, with it's own entrance. But Duane said maybe we should open up a mattress store instead. Duane is the representative for Galaxy Mattresses that we used to sell at the store and Duane just launched his new business of manufacturing the bases (box springs) for mattresses. If we opened a store we would only be open a few days a week plus we'd be open by appointment becasue Duane will continue to rep the mattresses and build the bases (Actually he won't physically build them since he was run over by a car and is not able to do much physical labor.) So my question is, in RICHMOND CORNER

1- SHOULD WE OPEN A MATTRESS ONLY STORE?

2- SHOULD WE OPEN A MATTRESS STORE WITH CATALOGUE ORDERING FOR FURNITURE?

3- SHOULD WE JUST RENT OUT OUR BASEMENT APARTMENT?

Duane's Furniture is now completely closed. If you have any warranty issues we will do our best to help. Please send me a personal message as I will only be checking this page once in a while. Thank you to everyone that supported us over the last 15 years. We wish you all the very best. We will continue to be in the furniture and mattress industry, so if you have any questions or need advise please feel free to ask us.

Today Sunday Oct. 25th will be the last day we will be offering the remaining inventory from Duane's Furniture for sale. Store will be open Noon - 3. Please bring your trucks, ropes and blankets. NO REASONABLE OFFER REFUSED! Everything must go! Delivery maybe available, but I don't know when as we have to finish cleaning not just the inventory out but cleaning the office and things so this week will be very busy. We will be able to hold things for a couple of days if need be. We still have accent chairs, bed in a bags, mattresses, bedroom furniture, lamps, area rugs and more.

FYI. Here's some insider information. The sale is coming to a close very soon and when it's over it's over, no extensions. So if you want to save some really big bucks get into the store asap. This is not a marketing ploy. I (Sherry) know I'm not a big person to ask for a better price, but right now you're in the drivers seat. But even though I said that don't be foolish. Most items have been marked down significantly so you're not going to get 50% off the mark down price. Anything left from the sale is going to a discount store in Saint John. We want our friends to get the deals is why we're giving you this inside information. I'd probably be shot if the people doing the sale knew I was telling you folks this. But go ahead and share this with your family and friends. BTW Duane and I would like to thank everyone for their support over the last 15 years. The 18th of this month would have been our 15th anniversary. We will miss our customers. We so enjoyed talking to each of you. We will not be opening another furniture store. It's hard to leave behind what you know, but it's exciting and scary going into a new business. Especially manufacturing, at least we're staying in the same industry. Again we'll miss you and please this is our last chance to see you get a great deal so take advantage of this opportunity. I will post again when I have a definite date the store will close, but it's rumored it will be by or before the end of the month so hurry and ask for the best price. It might be on the item all ready but I think most items still have a little wiggle room. Good luck and thanks again.

Well if you have been listening to the radio and reading the paper you would have heard that Duane's Furniture has sold its inventory to a 3rd party. This is a truly going out of business sale being done by our main supplier from the maritimes. This business has been around for over 100 years and Duane and I have dealt with them for over 20 years dealing directly with the owner and his family. These are people you can trust. We have done 2 huge sales with other companies and each company marked things up to mark them down. It's a great marketing tool to get you in the door but these people have not done that. They have come right out of the gate with fantastic prices. In my last little rant about the last company we hired I had said we only wanted to sell our inventory, pay the bills and have enough to start our new business. This is going to happen this time, with everything marked down and we sold most of our old inventory over the last few months so you have a fantastic selection. Plus they are also liquidating another store from NS too add to that, there is 2-3 warehouses right here in NB bursting with inventory. We hate false or misleading advertising, it makes us angry, but I have to say the sign says $1,000,000 Going Out Of Business Sale, there is easily double that inventory available for sale. So no lies and no misleading you. Plus Duane is starting his new business of building his box springs for the mattresses now. No new box springs will be bought from Galaxy Bedding, our number one mattress supplier, they will fully warranty their mattresses with Duane's Box Springs and will start taking orders for them in the Maritimes as of now. The future looks bright and we want to thank everyone for their support over the years and we also want to encourage everyone to come on in and take advantage of this opportunity to save some real dollars. I know it's only August but summer is almost over and the days will be longer and the new shows will be starting and your going to be spending more time in bed, so get a new bed now while they are on the biggest sale. Then Thanksgiving will be here before we know it, then the snow. So get that new living room set, or new kitchen table for the holiday dinners coming up. Don't wait until it's last minute and you're stressed, do it now, enjoy it and save some big bucks. I promise this is the very last of Duane's Furniture or Mattresses and Furniture Direct, which never caught on. Because when the sale is over in just a few weeks everything will be gone either on your truck or theirs. Save some money and make it yours! Sorry for the long post, but it just needed to be said.
