Usually my ā€˜dresser findsā€™ reveal wooden tops and faux drawer fronts, (much like my last project). So when I test sanded this dresserā€™s surface I was disappointed to discover particle board, which led me to believe I would be painting the whole thing. šŸ˜ž
But to my delight I discovered wooden drawer fronts!
To cancel the redness left from the original staining, I used a wash with a green pigment. - Fusion Pebble.
The exterior is painted with Fusionā€™s - Cobblestone, which I think complements the wood tone of the drawers.

I canā€™t always see the potential a piece has when I first look at it. Sometimes itā€™s beauty unfolds in stages.
This handsome guy just needed a good scrub and a new black suit.
The paint is a mix of Fusion ash and coal black. The brass pulls revealed their golden shine after a good soak in lemon juice and vinegar.
Poly coated and ready to go to itā€™s new home šŸ„°

If you spot Ikea Hemnes nightstands on Marketplace, you should buy them.
I was looking for a set of white but found a set of dark brown from a local person. More work for me but it was worth it!
Sanded, primed, painted, poly coated and finished with little k***s left over from my Lucy project.
I was going to sell but fell in love! šŸ„°

This use to store my discarded sanding pads and rags. Looks way better with homemade cookies on it. Way to go Lucy šŸ’•
