Took the creation out of the carport/garage with this one.

I did a built-in entrance way locker/cubby/closet deal for some friends over the last couple of weeks and I’m extremely happy with how it turned out, and I’m pretty sure they are as well.

I made the closet boxes, shaker doors and drawer front, drawer, installed shiplap, made and painted the upper and lower cubbies, made the bench and installed the whole unit. This one was satisfying as it came together.

After talking with them, we came up with a plan and I put together some drawings and it all started from there.

The projects have been few and far between lately due to a shift in priorities for me, but that doesn’t mean shop/garage time doesn’t happen anymore.
The next couple projects are especially important to me because they are boxes for my late grandparents ashes. The first one is made with an argyle pattern out of maple, walnut and Purple Heart. It was a long process, but I’m really happy with how it turned out.
Stay tuned for box number two. 😁

72 15ml bottles, 16 5ml bottles, 28 rollers, supplement storage area and a reference book shelf. This thing can hold it all. Our family has been supporting our health through oils and plant based supplements for a few years now and now we can finally keep everything in one place.
Between work, school events, dance, hockey and yard work among other things I finally got this thing done 2 months after starting it. 😳Made with maple and walnut (my two favourite contrasting woods) and a whole bunch of mitre joints. I was definitely challenged by this one, often those challenges bring learning experiences, I think that’s why I enjoy building things so much.
I definitely want to build more of these, message me if your interested.

It’s been quite sometime since I’ve posted anything, that didn’t mean that I stopped building or making things. I had a lot of really big projects I had to do around our house that took most of my extra time. I did take a break for a while, but before Christmas a friend of mine asked me to make him a desk for his new shop.
The options were pretty wide open for the build, so I got the opportunity to try something that I’ve seen but have never done. I did a lot of research and lost even more sleep thinking about this one.
Here’s a sneak peek as I’m not quite done.

A whole bunch of firsts for me with this build. Ecopoxy inlay, pin hinges, Sippo wood, pinned mitre joints, Tung oil. I learned a whole bunch that will be carried over to the next build, but overall, I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out.
