As the year draws to a close, Is This Work—ing? became a moment to pause—to reflect on how we work, what we value, and the spaces that hold us in the process.

We reimagined a bulthaup kitchen as a gardener’s workspace. No longer fixed in function, the activation shifts and adapts—both tool and canvas, structure and support. A space where the measure of work is not what is completed, but what is quietly unfolding.

Rooted in collaboration and shared values, this exhibition reminded us that work is relational, evolving, and shaped through exchange.

Set on a 480-acre property in Jaffray, BC, this kitchen was conceived as an extension of the landscape - a place where design and nature move in unison.

Here, the home sustains itself from the land: vegetables from the garden, locally sourced provisions, and seasonal harvests gathered close to home.

The space is designed to support a way of life rooted in health and connection - ergonomic in its flow, purposeful in its storage, and grounded in materials that echo the tones and textures of the land. A kitchen that nourishes as much as it inspires, seamlessly woven into the rhythms of its environment.
