Excited to finally share this Dbrand commercial, now that the cat is out of the bag.

Kropserkel was involved in fabricating many of the physical props you’ll spot throughout the video. I also had the chance to play the Dbrand mascot robot in the black cyberpunk helmet, which appears in multiple locations and quantities that seem to defy basic manufacturing logistics.

If that’s not enough, I also make a brief on-screen appearance with a whopping one-third of my face visible as the hazmat-suited fellow experiencing what can only be described as poor mission timing and an urgent need for a washroom.

My son Jack also appears in the production as a Half-Life Metro Cop and one of Aperture’s less-than-voluntary test subjects.

It was a fun project with an incredibly talented crew, and it’s always a pleasure to see practical props doing what they were built to do.

I could listen to that voice all day long, and luckily, I have to.
Want one? $570 helmet and $285 for the command stand.

The display stand, aka the ‘Command Stand with sound’ for the 78 models are designed to keep the helmet in a ‘live’ position and
have a speaker in the base with rechargeable power (or wall plug-in), and have an onboard MP3 player with MicroSD card for the various remastered classic Cylon sound recordings. The set also has bluetooth capabilities for future expansion (like conversational AI chat-bot. OMG, it's so cool).

These stands have the following dimensions:
H: 14 3/4 inches or 38 cm
W: 10 inches or 26 cm
D: 12 1/2 inches or 31.75 cm

A rare and wonderful meeting across the decades of Battlestar Galactica history.

Our friend Darren recently had the opportunity to meet Sandy Gimpel, whose career spans an incredible list of film and television productions. Battlestar Galactica fans may recognize her as Seetal, the Ovion harp player from the original 1978 series. I’ve included a collector card image showing Sandy in costume, along with a recent photograph of Darren wearing his Kropserkel-built Cylon armour beside her.

As someone who has spent time behind masks and inside costumes myself, I know how often the performers disappear behind the characters they help bring to life. Stunt performers, suit actors, and masked performers are an essential part of what makes these worlds believable, yet they are rarely recognized out of costume. Moments like this are a wonderful reminder of the talented people who helped create the stories we continue to celebrate decades later.

The June 2026 graduating class is nearly ready to leave the facility.

Five Classic Cylon helmets, along with armour components and a set of Ringwraith legs, are preparing for deployment to their new custodians around the world. It’s always a fascinating moment to see months of work gathered together before they scatter to new homes, collections, conventions, and adventures.
