Suminagashi is a traditional Japanese art form that creates delicate, flowing patterns by floating ink on the surface of water. Artists gently drop and manipulate ink to form rings and swirls, then lay paper on top to transfer the design. The result is soft, organic patterns that often resemble ripples, smoke, or marble.
