Art & Design Shop + Gallery We are a decorative arts boutique specializing in Mid Century Modern.

We offer our clients a well edited collection of unique furniture, art, lighting, modernist glass, jewellery and objects from the early 1960’s through to the mid 80’s. Colour, condition and functionality within a small space are key with all designs presented. All items have been restored in our workshop to their former glory. Original pieces by notable 20th century designers include Pierre Paulin, Verner Panton, Charles and Ray Eames, Ingo Maurer, Guzzini, Kartell, George Nelson, Achille and Pier Castiglioni, Victor Vasarely & Conran Associates UK. We also house an extensive reference library on 20th Century Design for research purposes, client education and general information. We are located in the heart of the Art+Design District in downtown Toronto.

Composition entitled TRIDIM-GORDES on metallic gold background by Victor Vasarely (French/Hungarian 1906-1997)

Limited edition Pochoir (stencil) in colours on opaque metallic background.

Published by Éditions Du Griffon Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

This specific work was created to commemorate the grand opening of Gordes museum (Musée Didactique) the historic first home of the Foundation Vasarely within the Château De Gordes on July 5th, 1970. In 1948, the pioneering Op Art master Vasarely discovered Gordes, a perched village in the Vaucluse mountains. He credited its geometric landscape and harsh interplay of light and shadows as a key transition point from figurative art to kinetic & optical art.

Dated 1970.

Postmodern VULCANO Kettle designed by Teseo Berghella (Italian) for Casa Bugatti, Italy.

Polished stainless steel, heat resistant nylon handle and lid.

Layered magnetic stainless steel bottom, which allows the kettle to conduct heat effectively on all stovetops, including induction.

Whistles when water reaches a boil.

Circa 1990.

Made in Italy.

Handblown cased glass with white Tessuto Swirl technique.

Takes one E27 regular or LED bulb.
