I get a lot of questions on the difference between Maple and MDF for kitchen doors.
Just going back to basics - Maple is a natural wood species while MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) is an engineered wood byproduct which is made using wood residue and resins.
So which should you buy? Well, it would be easier to answer that question by showing you some samples in our showroom. However, the short answer is -- it depends on the finish that you are seeking.
MDF can only be painted, not stained. Maple can be painted or stained and if you like to see grain, then Maple (or other wood species) are a good choice. But if you are looking for a solid opaque color, then MDF is the way to go.
