UPDATE: NEW HORIZONS AHEAD. Happy spring everyone! You may have noticed that I've taken a little break from social media. I stepped away to give myself a breather and do some really deep soul searching, and to be honest the last 2 years have been exhausting for me; both personally and as the owner of a small business. 

Spring is all about rebirth and growth, and boy let me tell you, I'm all about embracing change right now. There are many BIG changes on the horizon, bother literally and figuratively, that I can't wait to tell you about soon. But in the meantime I wanted to let you know that I've decided to pause the retail side of The Carriage House Studio for now. This means that we will not be carrying Fusion Mineral Paint while we make some changes and go back to focusing on my first love of re-creating your furniture and creating beauty in the world.

And not to worry! We will still only be using all of our favourite Fusion Mineral Paint products on our furniture makeovers, meaning that we will still offer the best quality when trusting us with your heirloom pieces. I have absolutely loved being a Fusion Mineral Paint retailer and coaching my wonderful clients with their painting projects. It has been an honour, and I hope to continue again in the future.

As of Monday, November 1st (tomorrow!) all Fusion Mineral Paint Merchants will be required to increase their Suggested Retail Price on paint and some supplies by almost 20%. Our current retail price at The Carriage House Studio is $23.99 for a regular size jar of Fusion Mineral Paint - the lowest price we are allowed to sell it at. Tomorrow the Suggested Retail Price of Fusion Mineral Paint will permanently be raised to $27.99.

FARMHOUSE VIBES!

I think that Bellwood, our newest colour in at The Carriage House Studio, is THE quintessential modern farmhouse green from Fusion Mineral Paint . If you liked Sacred Sage, you're going to love Bellwood!

It's earthy and natural, and works with so many other neutrals. How stunning would it be on on kitchen cabinets?!

This was a special piece for me to makeover. I received it from a neighbour, and before that, this pretty little thing was living as a stowaway in a barn. It was in rough shape, but it had such potential!

I removed years worth of greasy gunk off with our Fusion Odourless Solvent and then washed it all down with our Organic TSP Alternative. The wood on this unique piece had a beautiful aged patina, and I love how Bellwood really sets off and compliments the wood, which was treated with Fusion's H**p Oil to rehydrate and condition it.

I love how the stencils add a bit of whimsy and work beautifully with the framed antique cross-stitched pieces that was embroidered a very, very long time ago by my son's great-great grandmother.

Our newest neutral from Fusion Mineral Paint takes the cake. Literally. 🍰 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I so loved updating this dresser from an old bedroom set.

Cashmere added a rich elegance to this piece and gave it an instant update. If you like Fusion's retired colour Goddess Ashwagandha, I'm confident you will love Cashmere.

Cashmere has that same creamy greige colour, but Cashmere has a hint of a pinker base - the same way that another favourite Fusion neutral, Cathedral Taupe, does. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Did you know that you can paint hardware with Fusion as well... it sticks to metal!

I painted these pieces of hardware with paint that has been slightly diluted with water, let it sit for a few minutes, and then wiped back as much paint as I could . It will leave paint sitting in the grooves and is a pretty way to instantly age shiny hardware. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

THE CAKE. I know, right?! It's gorgeous. I have a secret: that's my wedding cake!

My wedding was nearly 5 years ago, but when the uber talented Nadia & Co sent me sketches of the cakes she had designed for me I knew there was no way that I was going to be able to cut her art into little pieces and serve it.

So I asked her to make me my wedding cake, but one that I could keep forever, and it was the best wedding decision I made - apart from marrying my husband.

All of the flowers cascading down the cake are handpainted using edible paints. 😍

I promise I will find more photos of this enchanted cake to post up for you soon!
