A love letter to my country, and the person I get to explore it with ❤️

Today I feel like reflecting on all the things that I love about Canada 🇨🇦

⛰️ Born and raised in Alberta, I spent my first decade of life close to the mountains. I cherish this as one of the best places in this great country; the scenery and people are incredible.

🌾 After that, I spent nearly a decade in Saskatchewan. Living on a farm just about as rural as you can get taught me a lot about a different kind of Canada—expansive plains and friendly smiles.

🌲 Then I ventured out to Ontario, I’ve been calling this province home for my third decade now. Growing up out west, I had a lot of assumptions about what Ontario would be like, to be honest, it is better than I could have ever thought (hello, Algonquin!!). This is also where I met and fell in love with my husband (and business partner), Kyle—a Hamiltonian originally.

🚚 Our absolute favourite part of our job is driving around the great provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Over the last 5 years, we have visited just about every small town —from SUVs to vans, to rented U-Hauls, and whatever else we could get our hands on to transport furniture! We love touring so many parts of Canada and finding hidden treasures. Plus, every time we are in a new town, we find a local restaurant, pub, or diner. Truly some of the best food and beverages come from those places!

🪵 Lastly, we have the unique privilege of working on so many Canadian-made antique and vintage pieces—crafted from beautiful Canadian wood! (Yay, Canada! 🍁) We are constantly in awe of the fabulous craftsmanship of so many of Canada’s very own heritage furniture companies, including Gibbard, Hespeler, Knechtel, Krug and more. Built from sturdy lumber, these vintage pieces represent the absolute best of Canadian manufacturing history.

We love keeping Canada’s heritage alive, one piece at a time.

Ever wonder why our finish feels and looks so different? ✨

We don’t use big box store paints, or mineral paint, or harmful toxic paint. So, what do we use??

We use , an Italian engineered, professional grade water based coating.

• Industrial strength- high end water based formula designed for high traffic areas. Meaning it’s incredibly resistant to scratches, heat, moisture, and daily wear and tear.

•Safe for you and your family- it’s low VOC! This means you don’t have to worry about harsh chemicals or lingering odors.

•Factory smooth finish- with all our paints we add in a catalyst to create a rock hard, yet buttery smooth finish. We apply in our paint booth with a quality sprayer and sand between coats, this process provides a luxurious end product.
