We had such fun at the ARIDO award Gala last night. Our team enjoyed seeing our colleagues and clients being celebrated and cheering each other on!

I personally have had the pleasure of working with some of the winners over the years. I wish I could have said hello to each of you!

Business Consultant Alert!
Any referrals would mean the world to me. I am a single mom and I just need some more clients to help so that I can support my wonderful kid. It's tough out there guys, any referrals will be so appreciated.

I am going to try something new. I am going to tell you exactly what I'm looking for.

My goal is to expand my consulting work beyond the client I already enjoy working with. I love crafting creative solutions and providing ongoing training and support for people and businesses. I love learning how things work, deconstructing it to really understand, and then finding creative solutions to problems. I love working with inspiring teams, people, and creating a vision that works even better for them.

What I can offer:

2. Training on the global furniture and material supply chain. ie: how is it made, how does it get here.

I see the reliance on salespeople for training as a gap. I want to offer designers, architects, and others a chance to learn from an experienced professional without sales ties. I want to work with creative teams for initial training sessions or as an ongoing support to them.

This started like any forgotten basement, with a mishmash of cast off furniture and a frustrated family. They had done a mild Reno a few years ago, installing pit lights, broadloom and painting the walls, but then just left it from there. So we worked with that.

My client wanted to put together a space that her teenage kids could hang out in. She wanted them to have their friends over which they never did. She lamented that they were never at home. With her son heading to college soon, she wanted both her kids home more but a place she could enjoy as well.

The kids shared why they didn’t hang out to The Working Vine

1. It wasn’t comfortable
2. The staircase was open and gave them no privacy.
3. No snack storage (I mean, that really is key)
4. The daughter said it was embarrassing because there was no style (she has an interest in design).

It turns out, my client loves navy blue. So after asking me a million times if that was “okay” after showing her any furniture or fabrics and picking blue when it was an option, I reassured her that if she likes blue we would do blue.

I believe that clients should pick what they like, it’s my job to then pull together everything into a cohesive space. We had enough various wood tones and other colours to work with, so we leaned in 💕

The art that I installed yesterday is a collection of family pieces which span over years of travel, art from her children, a painting by her father, much loved scarves of her mother, and more.

This space went from forgotten to an oasis that teenage friends enjoy, and a cozy nook for the family to enjoy.
