Hi there! I am Courtney. I have a beautiful Labrador Retriever named Primrose and a Tuxedo cat named Sammy. The horse featured in this picture is Dolly. She is my friend Tamara's Horse. This picture was taken for me in 2018 by Tamara Jameson. Dolly has since passed away. Dolly will always have a special place in my heart!
I wanted to re-introduce myself to everyone! It has been a while since I shared About Me! I am going to share 10 interesting things about me.
1. I grew up in Cloverdale and was introduced to horses by my Auntie Elaine and cousins when I was a kid. I started riding at the age of 12 years old at a barn called the Cedars Equestrian Centre!
2. It is hard to believe... at a point in my childhood I was afraid of animals! Even the cute ones like rabbits and puppies! (their are a few stories here but you will have to wait to hear them)
3. I am a Senior Equi-Health Canada Instructor. I started teaching in June of 2017.
4. I worked at an Equine Veterinary Practice for 2.5 years. I worked in Ambulatory going on the road with my Vet as well as, assisting with emergency surgeries, and ICU patient care.
5. In July of 2022, I graduated a Horse Guided Healing Facilitator training. I now offer healing sessions for people!
6. One of my favorite things to do in the winter is snuggle up with my cat and enjoy a coffee.
7. In 2011, I graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with a Certificate in Early Childhood Education.
8. In 2020, I was awarded Equi-Health Canada's Instructor of the Year Award
9. I am very passionate about educating Equestrians on the topic of health and equine first aid. I believe it is important for riders, owners, grooms, barn managers, backyard riders, cowboys, etc. to know how to help their horse when the minutes count.
10. I am also passionate about supporting people through their own healing! It is important for us as people to find a space where we can be held in love and supported.
I have done many different things in life so far... if I have learned one thing it is that we need look at everyone with empathy. We do not know anything about what it is like to walk a day in their shoes.
I look forward to connecting with you when you feel the call to contact me!
