Well it came together perfectly. The Cnc cut the holes without a problem. I was able to clean, cut, drill, and tap all the spikes with only one broken drill bit and one broken tap. The walnut turned out perfectly as walnut always seems to do. I enjoy the process of making things and I won’t let it go to someone else unless I’m completely satisfied with the final product. This one came out better than I expected and it’s owners will hopefully enjoy it for many years to come.

Watching this guy cut into a few days worth of work, wondering if today is the day we have a hiccup on the Cnc and it ruins everything in an instant! Pretty sure we’re good as I did about 30 test holes trying different techniques before I put the good wood on the table.

For anyone who has a larger dog, something like this helps older dogs eat and prevents other dogs from pushing the bowl around all over when they eat. Also it’s adds a bit of decoration to that dog bowl that spends all its time sitting on the floor anyways!

Finished these walnut live edge crib boards. Turned out great. Normally I remove the bark on live edge wood as it expands and contracts at different rates than the wood itself, so it eventually breaks off. But in this case I’ve had this wood sitting on the lumber rack for almost a year and figured if it can go through 4 seasons and still be on there, I’ll just remove the really loose and fragile stuff and seal it up.

Been a while since I’ve been able to share anything I’ve been making. Didn’t know what to do for Dad this year for Father’s Day so figured a custom made solid walnut crib board was the way to go with a small engraving to mark the date. Finished with my own blend of mineral oil and bees wax.
