Universal woodworking truths. 🪵

Nobody puts these in the manual. Nobody warns you before you start. You just figure them out one build at a time until one day you realize they were true from the very beginning.

There is always one more thing to sand.
You will think you are done. You are not done. Sand again. Then once more after that.

The tool you need is always under the other tools.
Physics doesn't apply in the workshop. The tool you need exists in another dimension until the moment you stop looking for it.

The wood always has a better idea than you.

The grain, the knot, the void, the live edge all of it is trying to tell you something. The builds that turn out best are the ones where you stopped arguing and started listening.

Every finished piece was worth every difficult moment.
The bad cuts. The wrong measurements. The bubble in the epoxy. The late nights. The early mornings. The sanding that never ends.
Worth it.
Every single time.
