Today's classes were ... productive!!! 😁
5 participants finished their project!!!

1️⃣ J. made the camera. He just turned 6!!! First ever project!!! When I talked with the parents before he came, we said we would try and see how he does. Well this young man impressed me! Great attitude in the shop and great skills! Keep it up J.!

2️⃣ L. made the robot with hammer. First project for him at 8. He is a quiet kid but man did he do well. Very clean job, attention to details ... L. it was a pleasure to have you in the shop. I'll see you this summer!

3️⃣ & 4️⃣ L. & D (twin brothers) made the 2 vehicles! They both took our woodcarving 101 classes and this was their first general woodworking class. And here as well, the quality of their work is outstanding! And just to remind you guys ... there is NO POWER TOOL used in the process ... all truly done by hand ... 👌

5️⃣ J. made the box. Simple model yet it has to be done right .. and he did! Today for all the finishing touches, I felt how he did everything he could to make it look right. And his happiness and pride after seeing it all done!!! So glad to be able to give kids that feeling! 🧡 Good job J.

⏩️ My last 3️⃣ days in 1️⃣ post! 😁

Wednesday evening

This was the last class for our shelf making class and I want to showcase Heather's week on the first picture. This was her first time using marking tools, chisels, planes and saws but she did an awesome job! The dados she cut are nice and clean! Very good job!

Thursday morning, afternoon and Friday morning

I was at the AECA Preschool for an early Father's Day workshop! 45 kids and 45 dads over 3 groups participated. Together, they made some cute little chain robots holding a sign that kids could customized. We had a blast and lots of laughs! Working with preschoolers is funny! 😁 We brought drills, saws, hammers ... and didn't lose a single finger!!! 😅 Woohoo!!! We had an awesome time, thank you so much Nichole for having us again!

Thursday evening

I went to Pilot Butte for a dragonfly carving class. 6 participants put their hands on V tools and gouges to create a beautiful art piece ... that I obviously forgot to picture at the end of the night! 😆 But trust me, they all did a very good job! That type of carving on painted wood is so satisfying to make, I think I'll do more of these!

Now I'll have some rest tonight before going back to the studio tomorrow morning for our kids woodworking classes! 👍

We had a few families informing us of a glitches on our Summer camps registration form.

We fixed the problem but can I guarantee it won't come back??? No! 😅

So if you experience any issue while trying to register please let us know. If you have an error message, that will help us figure out where the glitch comes from.

🔵🟠 BLOOMING DESKTOP LAMP 🟠🔵

I have been slowing down a little bit on custom orders lately.
There's something inside of I can't help
I need to be creative
I want to make products that I imagined and designed

Lamps have been on my list for a long time, and here is the first one!

-- THE BLOOMING LAMP --
I chose this name because the shape of it with curvatures reminds blooming flowers.
That state just before they the world all their beauty.

The long petals are ash on the outside with walnut stripe inside while the shorter ones are the opposite.

Such small pieces can't be done with machines, this piece of art has all been shaped by hand.

And I'm extremely pleased with the result.

It will head to our shop tonight.

Whether for the office, night stand or to had nice touch to your living room, this lamp is definitely an eye catcher!

This model will sell for $269.90 +. taxes.
It's about 12in tall.

Something I have been obsessed with since ...
After thinking and thinking again, I couldn't solve all the issues associated with it ...

But it was still in my head ...
Ideas can be sticky ...

Moving forward, a month ago, what was in the dark and fog suddenly lighten!
And solutions were found to make it happen!!!

So Jenny and I are currently brainstorming and actively working on a new product for kids! Different than what we offer, but it will still be wood and creative!

We are so excite about it.
But the amount of work before being ready looks like the Everest!
One step at a time, we will get there.

We are aiming at having it ready by the end of July, for an announcement in August and launch in September ... Maybe too ambitious but having deadlines forces you to take actions!!

We have a last project for you before summer! In this adults class, I’m offering you to create your own coaster set … by hand! Yes you can tell me it’s done faster with machine. But the satisfaction to do it by hand is unbeatable. Stay tuned for all details!

I’ve been ask to create a walnut wedding box, and it’s time to cut the grooves for the lid and bottom … I love using the Veritas box making plane. No dust, no loud noise and pure joy to handle! Clean result! 👌

You may recognize this one! We offered that carving in one of our girls' night event.

One of our followers who didn't participate loved it!
That lady got promoted lately, and after talking with her husband, I could feel how proud of her he was! He wanted to offer her a special present for that important moment in her life.

So he contacted me to make a replica of the flower carving, with the same background colour but adding an engraved name (blurred in the picture) and a nice cherry frame.

It has been offered today and from what I heard, she absolutely loves it! 🧡

Being able to create such meaningful products is very rewarding.
I'm not just building things ... I help making life memorable!
