Here’s the last few projects before I take a few days off for the holidays.

is opening a new location in Etobicoke. I dropped off six picnic tables so you can eat outside in the sunshine under a big old maple tree. If you haven’t eaten their bbq you should. It’s very good. Having eaten many a bbq around Texas I can confidently say Adamsons has removed needing to fly to Texas to get the good stuff!

Looking to up your prep game in the kitchen? Head to and pick up one of their huge variety of Japanese kitchen knives. Want an endgrain cutting board to keep your knives sharper longer and get a beautiful place to display your chopping skills (even if it just for yourself) has a bunch of boards from me as well!
Get rid of those plastic, knife dulling boards (whenever they’re compromised by cut marks of course) and replace it with a lifelong end-grain wood board.

End grain cutting boards don’t harbour bacteria the way a plastic board does! The capillary action of wood remains after its been cut, dried and made into a cutting board, which allows the board to continue being a much safer board to use! Some simple maintenance once a season (or monthly if used daily) is all that’s needed to keep the boards going your entire life!

I don’t know what dog day is, but here’s Sadie! She’s the best. She hangs out and mostly tolerated when we fostered other dogs which have all been adopted to what I can only assume are a lot of happy people! Dogs are great!

Some benches for the shop.
My uncle Ronnie was a carpenter his whole life, or at least for my whole life, and I felt like building something he would be happy to build. A bit of pressure treat and limestone and we have some new benches. I thought a lot about his hard work ethic while making these today and can remember seeing him work until the job was done.
I was honoured that my mom wanted his burial box to be made by me. All local walnut with a Douglas fir bottom so he can rest on the wood his hands knew best. @ Take Care Tattoo
