Cristae Forms, a collection of unique oversized sculptural planters. There four models of planters which are fabricated using rotational moulding. Each polyethylene planter is then individually treated with a special flaming process that produces a smooth matte finish. All planters are durable, light and UV protected and can be ordered with or without drainage systems.

Our Story

At Cristae Forms, we work with creatives to bring you distinct forms with function and purpose. Located in among the natural beautiful forms of Vancouver, British Columbia. Our PL Series by Marie Khouri is our first collaboration. Marie brings her sense of history, culture, and geographies, to each one of her pieces. For our PL Series, Marie was inspired by the fluid lines of the coastal metropolis of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Each version of the PL Series has it’s own DNA. From a clay ball, Marie first created maquettes (miniature sculptures), using her thumbs and the undulations of her palm to sculpt each unique, fluid curve. Once complete, the maquettes were 3D scanned and scaled up to their real life size. The 3D shapes were then CNC cut from massive blocks of styrofoam and meticulously hand sanded by Marie - numerous times - to ensure the curves and undulations were fluid and perfect. Using the completed, life size styrofoam sculptures, a mold was made to enable rotationally molded production.

Once molded, each polyethylene planter is individually trimmed and sanded by hand. With a unique process, each part is meticulously passed over with a torch producing a smooth matte finish. We’ve spent over 45 years perfecting our rotational molding expertise and we are extremely proud of the end result of the PL Series. All planters are durable, lightweight, UV protected, and can be ordered with or without drainage systems.

We instantly fell in love with the PL Series. They are featured in our offices and homes. We hope you love them as much as we do!
