Thank you to the community for your support after almost 3 full decades of patronage, but we're closing the doors on March 31, 2026.

The best part of this journey has been how many lives we've touched. From the reactions we've received delivering a restored sentimental antique to our staff and also the Co-op students we've given placements to exposing them to a job environment in the trades.

Thank you again. Please scroll the pictures below to see some of the pieces we've done over the years and members of our team. It's been amazing to have such an experience and my life has been enriched in working with you all!

It's been 29 years since the doors were opened by Sandra at Sandra Dee's Finishing Touch and 13 years since she handed the reins to me.

The time has come for this chapter to come to a close and shutter the doors to Sandra Dee Furniture Refinishing.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the community that supported us for close to 3 decades of service. The 2 best parts of it all were the reactions from our clients when a sentimental piece returned home and helping with the OYAP program, exposing high school students to what was, in many cases, their first experience in a job placement plus exposure to the trades.

After almost 30 years and 13 years at the helm, we're winding down operations.

Michael Lehikoinen took over the store in 2013 and thanks the community for all of the support over the years.

Not every piece needs to be stripped of its identity to feel current.

This Walnut secretary came in wearing that heavy orange-brown tone so common of pieces from its era. Solid construction, just stuck in another decade.

We refinished it in Sandstorm Grey to mute the warmth and bring it I to a cleaner, more modern aesthetic - without altering the architectural detail.

We also integrated a hidden cable pass-through so it can function as a proper workspace in 2026.

The k**b on the fall front? Moved to its proper place on the door and a period-suitable replacement provided from our own collection.

Skilled refinishing is about restraint, detail, and making thoughtful decisions with client input - not just changing the colour.

Yes - traditional furniture can feel current!

Sandra Dee Furniture Refinishing is excited to welcome back the school year!!

We support introducing teens to our specialties in the trades business by being a sponsoring placement in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program. We love having co-op students be a part of our team for the semester that they get to be here. We have partnered with several local high schools over the past 10 years and look forward to this year's students!

This maple 6 legged table inspired by the William and Mary style from the early 1700s but most likely made in the early 1900's. It was passed down to our client by her late aunt and uncle. It was almost black with aged boiled linseed oil. The client wanted it refinished using an Early American stain which was then finished with a low luster lacquer. All of the joints were also cleaned and re-glued.
