Customer of the Year Material Right Here 😄

One of the best parts of this business is getting to work with incredible people over and over again.

Today, Thaddeus was out delivering and setting up another addition to an outdoor space belonging to one of our longest-standing customers and biggest supporters, Ian and his family. Over the years, they’ve built an absolutely beautiful backyard retreat with furniture from Taylor’s.

From the swivel gliders… to the round pub set with umbrella… to the custom hall tree we built for bathrobes beside the hot tub… and now this gorgeous deluxe deep seating sectional in slate grey.

Comfortable. Durable. Beautiful. Built to handle Canadian weather while looking fantastic year after year.

Of course, Ian couldn’t resist having a little fun at our expense.

Thaddeus left the shop at 8:30 a.m. sharp. Then at 10:30 a.m. I get a text:

“Hey Matt, is Thaddeus on his way?”

Cue immediate concern.

I’m calling Thaddeus.

“Are you okay? Where are you? Did something happen?”

Meanwhile, he’s standing in Ian’s backyard, furniture assembled, everything set up.

Turns out Ian was just having a little fun with me. 😆

We all had a great laugh.

That’s the kind of relationship we’re grateful to have with our customers. Not just transactions—real people, real conversations, and friendships that grow over the years.

Thank you, Ian and Leslie, for your continued support, your trust, and your sense of humour. Businesses like ours don’t grow because of advertising alone. They grow because good people continue to choose local, choose quality, and tell their friends.

And seeing a backyard come together like this reminds us why we do what we do.

Made in Ontario. Built to last. Delivered by people who care.

🚛 Another load heading out from Taylors Recycled Plastic Products of Peterborough!

This time it’s Thad loading up a trailer full of freshly completed park benches, along with a large shipment of recycled plastic lumber destined for the Toronto District School Board.

A lot of people know us for our Muskoka chairs and outdoor furniture, but as a reminder, we also manufacture and supply site furnishings for:

✅ Schools
✅ Hospitals
✅ Municipalities
✅ Public parks
✅ Community spaces
✅ Respite care homes
✅ Golf courses
✅ Commercial properties

From the aluminum frames to the powder coating to the final assembly, our products are proudly 100% Made in Ontario. And in many cases, we’re the ones delivering them too.

It’s pretty rewarding to watch these benches leave the shop knowing they’ll become places where people gather, rest, connect, and enjoy their communities for years to come.

As for Thad, once the trailer was loaded and secured, it was one final walk-around, a quick check of the straps, and off down the highway he went.

One trailer.
One delivery.
One more step on the Road to $1 Million.

Thank you to everyone choosing local, choosing Canadian, and supporting businesses that still make things right here in Ontario. We couldn’t do it without you.

🎬 Take Two… Because Apparently Words Are Hard

Another exciting day here at Taylors Recycled Plastic Products of Peterborough.

Thaddeus is out there doing what he does best — driving the forklift, unloading park bench frames and picnic table frames like a seasoned professional. Meanwhile, I’m standing in front of the camera attempting to speak English and discovering that apparently words are optional today.

What Thad is unloading are the aluminum, powder-coated frames for our commercial site furnishings. From there, we do the final assembly and finishing right here in Peterborough using our recycled plastic lumber. Then it’s off to parks, schools, municipalities, businesses, campgrounds, golf courses, and public spaces across Ontario and beyond.

A lot of folks know us for Muskoka chairs, dining sets, and residential outdoor furniture, but we’re also building:

✅ Park Benches
✅ Picnic Tables
✅ Site Furnishings
✅ Commercial Seating Areas
✅ Custom Projects

All built to handle Canadian weather and designed to last for years without the constant maintenance of traditional wood.

So while I’m busy fighting a losing battle against my own vocabulary, Thaddeus is making sure the real work gets done.

One forklift load at a time.

One bench at a time.

One picnic table at a time.

And one step closer to that Road to $1 Million.

😎 The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades.

Okay… partly because it’s ridiculously sunny out here today. But also because I’m feeling pretty optimistic.

This spring has been absolutely wild at Taylors Recycled Plastic Products of Peterborough.

The support for Made in Ontario and Made in Canada products has been incredible. So incredible, in fact, that we’ve managed to strain just about every part of the supply chain—including our own. Orders have been pouring in, manufacturers have been adapting, material suppliers have been scrambling to keep up, and all of us have been working overtime trying to serve customers as quickly as possible.

The good news?

We’re starting to see the tide turn.

Now, we’re not talking about taking lead times from 6–8 weeks down to 3 weeks overnight. That’s not realistic. But we are starting to see those lead times slowly creep back in the right direction. Trucks are arriving. Materials are flowing. Furniture is getting built. Orders are shipping. The lag is beginning to dissipate.

And that’s a very good sign.

The best part is that this didn’t happen because of government programs or corporate giants. It happened because thousands of people made simple choices.

Choosing local.
Choosing Ontario-made.
Choosing Canadian-made.

Those choices matter.

They support manufacturers, truck drivers, suppliers, machine shops, family businesses, local employees, and entire communities. Every dollar spent locally creates ripple effects that extend far beyond a single purchase.

So from all of us at Taylors, thank you.

Thank you for your support.

Thank you for believing in Canadian manufacturing.

If we keep making these choices together, the future is bright indeed.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got furniture to build, orders to ship, and sunglasses to wear. 😎🇨🇦

Pallets on pallets on pallets. 🇨🇦

Here at Taylors Recycled Plastic Products of Peterborough, we’ve got recycled plastic lumber getting ready to ship right across the country — and a whole heap of furniture to build from the lumber now landing in our shop.

A huge thank you to everyone choosing Canadian-made.

It makes a real difference.

To our business.
To the Ontario manufacturers we work with.
To the suppliers, truck drivers, families, shops, and communities connected to every order.

This is how you build a strong, vibrant economy: one simple choice at a time.

Seek local.
Choose made in Ontario.
Support made in Canada.

We’re grateful. Our partners are grateful. And now we’re back to work getting these orders built and out the door.

Thanks for your patience, your support, and for being part of the road to $1 million. 🇨🇦

White Glove Delivery + New Furry Friends 🐾☀️

Today we had the pleasure of delivering this beautiful Kimberly Collection Deep Seating Set to some wonderful customers in Curve Lake, and what a fantastic day it was.

A gorgeous view from the deck, fantastic people, and two absolutely adorable Pomeranians who may have stolen the show. 🐶❤️ (As you can see, Thaddeus was more than happy to make a few new friends.)

We’re incredibly grateful every time someone chooses Taylors Recycled Plastic Products of Peterborough. It’s an honour to help create outdoor spaces where families and friends can relax, connect, and make memories for years to come.

While you’re in the area, be sure to stop by the Whetung Ojibwa Centre and support a truly special local business. It’s well worth the visit.

The furniture is in place, the view is spectacular, and we’re not done yet—there’s still a custom project to come for these great customers, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Thank you for your support, your trust, and for allowing us to be a small part of your outdoor living dreams.

Great people. Cute dogs. Beautiful views. Made-in-Ontario furniture.
That’s a pretty good day in our books.

☀️ Saturday Morning Update from Taylors Recycled Plastic Products of Peterborough

What a beautiful sunny Saturday morning.

We’re in the shop today, and for the first time in a while, it feels like we’re really starting to see things smooth out. Production is catching up, raw material supply is improving, shipments are arriving, orders are moving through the system, and week by week we’re getting closer to being fully caught up.

We’ve had a few unexpected hiccups along the way—some material delays, shipping challenges, and the general chaos that comes with a growing business—but things are definitely heading in the right direction.

The good news? The reason we’re so busy is because so many people have chosen to support Made in Ontario and Made in Canada products. That’s a pretty wonderful problem to have.

In fact, there have been so many inquiries lately that I’m actually behind on getting quotes out. If you’re waiting to hear back from me, thank you for your patience. I promise I’m working my way through them as quickly as I can.

Every order, every phone call, every email, and every visit to the showroom helps us continue building this company, supporting Ontario manufacturing, and creating jobs right here at home.

So from Thaddeus and me, thank you. It genuinely means the world to us.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, there’s lumber to move, furniture to build, quotes to send, and apparently not enough hours in the day.

This is what the road to $1 million looks like. 🚚☀️🪑🇨🇦

HOUSE OF CHAIRS

Possibly the least exciting thing a grown man can say on a Friday night.

Not Club 54.

Not a concert.

Not a cottage party.

Nope.

House of Chairs.

And here I am on a Friday evening, wandering around the showroom at Taylors Recycled Plastic Products of Peterborough, attempting to merchandise this place like some kind of outdoor furniture wizard.

Unfortunately, my decorating strategy mostly consists of:

👉 Put chair here.

👉 Move chair there.

👉 Stare at chair.

👉 Move chair back.

👉 Add another chair.

👉 Wonder why it somehow looks exactly the same.

The reality is we’ve got so many styles, colours, dining sets, conversation sets, Muskoka chairs, deep seating options, and outdoor furniture combinations that organizing this place is becoming a full-contact sport.

At some point, I probably need a professional to come in and explain what I’m doing.

Until then, welcome to my folksy little showroom.

It’s not corporate.

It’s not fancy.

It’s more like an Easter egg hunt for outdoor furniture.

You never know what you’ll find around the next corner.

So if you’re looking for quality Canadian-made outdoor furniture and you don’t mind a showroom that’s been arranged by a guy whose primary qualification is “owns a tape measure,” come on by.

We’ll have a laugh, sit in some chairs, and figure out how to make your outdoor space amazing.

Happy Friday from the House of Chairs.

This is what the road to $1 million looks like.

🚨 Fri-YAY Update from Matt at Taylors Recycled Plastic Products of Peterborough! 🚨

It’s haircut day.

Off to see Michelle at Salon M in Peterborough. Every year there’s a little more forehead and a little less hair for her to work with, but somehow she keeps making me look presentable. Frankly, at this point, it’s less of a haircut and more of a landscaping project around a shrinking forest. 😂

I’ll admit it — I’m looking a little tired today. Face is a bit droopy. But it’s good stress.

We’re BUSY.

Today alone we’ve had trucks arriving with recycled plastic lumber, trucks arriving with furniture from our Ontario manufacturing partners, and now comes the fun part: assembling, building, delivering, shipping, quoting, answering phones, and trying to remember what day it is.

The shop is chaos. Organized chaos… mostly.

I think Canadian manufacturing might have been in a bit of a winter hibernation. Then spring showed up, everyone decided they wanted outdoor furniture at the same time, and suddenly the entire industry woke up and collectively yelled:

“OH BOY, HERE WE GO!”

So if things are taking a little longer than normal, please know that all of us—manufacturers, suppliers, truckers, and small businesses—are working as hard as we can to ramp up production, logistics, and deliveries.

We’re rebuilding this economy one chair at a time.

One table at a time.

One truckload at a time.

And occasionally one coffee at a time.

To everyone who has chosen Canadian-made products and supported our little company here in Peterborough: thank you.

It means more than you know.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go get whatever hair remains professionally supervised.

Happy Friday, everyone. 🇨🇦❤️

— Matt
