The call comes in the middle of the afternoon. "Grandma, Grandpa, it's me. I'm in trouble."

The supposed family member claims to be in an emergency situation, such as a car accident, they need bail money and attorney fees, or there was a medical emergency while they were abroad. You’re asked to quickly send money to get them out of trouble.

Be careful– this call could potentially be a "Grandparent Scam."

Every parent fears their child running away. Despite our best efforts to keep them safe, many youths feel that running away is the only solution to their problems. That is why it is so important to try and understand them and their reasons for running away.

In our blog, we share some of the reasons that may drive a child or teen to run away. While no parent ever wants this to happen, you should at least know what steps to take when your child runs away to hopefully bring them home sooner.
