It's been a long process but we are pleased to revealed our completed Cabinet of a Curiosities, a beautiful former china cabinet now transformed for a new owner.
These Krug cabinets were very popular back in the day (early 1900's) and well made. Ours has been refreshed with Fusion mineral paint in Midnight Blue while retaining some panels of beautiful veneer which are protected with Osmo polyx oil. The legs of the base have received the same treatment.
The interior back has been treated to a beautiful Mint by Michele decoupage Peacock with hand painted extensions and the side exterior panels have been stenciled with metallic waxes to match the colour tones of the interior motif. The egg and dart trim on the exterior has also received a subtle touch of the same waxes. All hardware is original and freshly polished.
The 2 original wooden shelves have been replaced with glass however they are available if a purchaser wishes to retain them. The cabinet is outfitted with a rechargeable LED light that can be adjusted to your liking.
We believe that fine vintage furniture should not be discarded because it is "dated" but rather deserves to be repurposed and refreshed so that it can serve a new purpose for many years to come.
