This is just the beginning. As we celebrate 100 years of Bonds Decor, we’re planning a special anniversary celebration to reconnect with the customers, staff, family, and friends who have been part of our story over the past century. We can’t wait to welcome familiar faces from throughout the years. Stay tuned… it’s going to be one to remember.

In 1927, W.A. Bond opened a paint store in Ottawa.

He started as a retailer and wholesaler of fine quality paint products. If a customer wanted the job done professionally, his team could handle the contracting too. But the foundation was always the same. Quality products. Professional personal service.

That was 1927.

In its 100th year, Bonds Decor remains a family-owned business, now in its fourth generation under Steve Bond. The contracting work has been left to specialists, but the conviction that launched the business in 1927 has never wavered.

Over the decades, Bonds Decor evolved. Paint remained the heart of the business — Benjamin Moore, PPG, Sikkels Prolux, Olympic Stains. Authorized retailers for the brands that matter. Retail and wholesale customers alike trust Bonds Decor for expertise and quality.

But something else happened. Over the last 90 years, Bonds Decor emerged as Ottawa’s number one retailer of quality Canadian-made solid wood furniture. Not as a trend or a pivot. As a natural extension of the same philosophy. Quality. Craftsmanship. The ability to order directly from manufacturers or customize pieces to suit specific needs.

There is no project too small or too large for the expert staff at Bonds Decor. A paint project at home. A large-scale commercial construction project. A custom dining table in solid wood. A complete colour consult for your living room.

What has remained constant across four generations and 100 years is this: Ottawa families trust Bonds Decor to help them make their homes and businesses more beautiful. And their lives a little better in the process.

Three locations across Ottawa:
📍: 1242 Bank Street, 150 Iber Rd, and 2212 Gladwin Cres

An old ad behind drywall. A stamp under a dining table. A piece of furniture that's been around longer than the house itself.

As FACES Magazine put it, "When people tear into walls or redo a home around Ottawa and the Valley, they sometimes come across little reminders of Bond's Decor."

For almost 100 years, Bonds Decor has been part of homes across Ottawa. We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey: our customers, our team, and our community.

Here's to the memories we've helped create and the ones still to come.
