🏆 Laurysen Kitchens Finalist Designs

We’re proud to be finalists in 12 categories at the 2026 Greater Ottawa Home Builders' Association's Housing Design Awards!

The Burgundy Jewel Box, a collaboration between Laurysen’s Kristen Weese (.weese.design) and Picasso Custom Homes (), earned its place among the finalists in the Bathroom – Powder Room category.

Deep burgundy panelling envelops the room in rich colour, while a band of Calacatta Viola Italian marble adds a striking wall detail. Warm brass accents catch the light, soft curves add movement, and a dark vanity grounds the space. Every element works together to create a room full of character.

We’re proud to be finalists in 12 categories at the 2026 Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association Housing Design Awards!

It’s easy to see why Walnut and Stone, Caroline Castrucci’s entry with Minto Homes Ottawa and Urban Quarry, earned a spot in the Production Kitchen (201-250 sq ft) category.

Ambrosia walnut cabinetry featuring a vertical grain pattern brings warmth and visual continuity to this contemporary kitchen, from the full-height storage wall to the grand island. A light, muted grey colour on the range wall breaks up the wood palette, while two-tone hardware adds crisp definition. HanStone porcelain in Travertino White extends beyond the countertops, rising behind the range to meet the upper cabinetry and cascading down the island in a waterfall edge. Its soft, sand-coloured veining balances the richness of the walnut.

🏆 Laurysen Kitchens Finalist Designs

We're proud to be finalists in 12 categories at the 2026 Greater Ottawa Home Builders' Association Housing Design Awards!

Monolithic Serenity, Wael Bakr's finalist entry in the Custom Bathroom (101 sq ft or more) – Contemporary category, speaks for itself.

Strong contrast and quiet warmth come together in this contemporary ensuite. Vertical-grain red oak cabinetry in a Granola stain, finished with integrated handles, sits beneath a striking black vanity countertop with bold white veining. Windows bathe the room in natural light, softening the darker tones throughout.

🚌 Tour Stop: Ciot, Montréal

Recently, our design team hit the road for a day with Ciot, taking in the latest in quartz and exploring a remarkable slab showroom. There's nothing quite like seeing the organic veining, rich textures, and variation of natural and engineered stone in person, and we are grateful to have experienced it firsthand. ✨

Many thanks to our account manager, Datarali Chhipa, and the entire Ciot team for hosting us, sharing their knowledge, and treating us to fantastic food.

It was a day to remember. 🧡

Refined Retreat, Kristen Weese's entry with Urban Quarry, stood out in the Production Bathroom category for a reason.

Natural light washes over a freestanding tub, creating a calm, airy backdrop for custom red oak cabinetry in a warm Granola stain. The floating double vanity keeps the floor line open, while slim black pulls add quiet definition. Above, mirrored upper cabinets conceal hidden storage, and integrated LED lighting in both the vanity and uppers highlights the oak's natural grain. Practical, warm, and refined, it's a retreat in every sense.
