Incredibly rare, a Romano-Celtic stone carving of Celtic deity Cocidius - adopted by the Romans and worshipped as Mars. Very few examples ever documented, truly the jewel currently shown in the gallery, dating between the 1st century BCE and 1st century AD, northern England.

A stunning example of a Roman amphora, built of early terracotta, dating between the 1st and 3rd century. A nice and scarce example of a vessel absolutely emblematic of the Roman Empire. Originally used as storage or transport vessels for oils, wine, or other higher value goods, often taken upon ships to transport across ports. Two loop handles used both as carrying mechanism but also as a means of fastening for transport via rope. A beautiful vessel, very symbolic of the Roman Empire.

Provenance: Washington, DC private collection. Purchased previously through Palmyra Heritage Gallery by repute.

Incredibly beautiful and very scarce golden loop nose ring from Roman Egypt, circa 1st to 3rd Century AD. A beautiful example of early decorative jewelry, featuring a bronze core covered in a thin sheet of gold. Stunningly beautiful not only as a beautifully preserved piece of historic jewellery, but also as a sculptural presence. Small yet intensely enigmatic. Displayed on contemporary acrylic and metal armature stand.

Provenance: Ancient Resource collection, California, previously San Francisco private collection, sold to benefit the California Pacific Medical Center Foundation.

An extremely beautiful and very scarce painted stucco mummy mask, dating to the early Roman Egyptian period, 1st Century BCE - 1st Century AD. A small but masterpiece level example retaining stunning levels of it’s painted detail both across the well formed curls of the hair as well as the beautifully expressive eyes. Left side of the face showing wear but the majority of the face and all of the detailing, from the formation of the eyes, nose and mouth, as well as the hair, has taken almost no loss.

After the Roman conquest of Egypt, lower Egypt adopted Roman funerary practices like panel paintings of the deceased, while middle Egypt held onto typical Egyptian funerary practice with the forming of stucco masks. Only around 1200 stucco masks from the Roman period are known today.

Displayed on contemporary custom built iron stand.

Absolutely stunning in form, this Cypriot bronze clothing pin dating from the Middle Bronze Age, 2000 - 1650 BCE, Cyprus. A stunning and large example featuring a conical head and well defined ridge details throughout the body, with a long and defined pin, still well pointed. These pins would have been used to enclose or secure tunics and cloaks around the wearer’s body. Known as a toggle pin due to the singular hole bore through the centre, used to anchor the pin to its garment to ensure it would not be lost. Displayed on contemporary metal stand.

An excellent and scarce example of Bronze Age utility. Similar example at the Ashmolean Museum, collection no. AN1994.18.

A stunning terracotta covered in gesso Ushabti dating to the Third Intermediate Period (1077 - 664 BCE) of Ancient Egypt. An impressively formed Ushabti in mummiform, wearing a tripartite headdress with arms crossed over chest. Stunning original condition with no repair. A beautiful votive statuette, these figures acted as accompaniment into the afterlife, as servants for the deceased. Standing on contemporary painted wood stand

Extremely rare Shrine of Henry VI pilgrim badge, dating to the late 15th to early 16th century showing King Henry VI holding an orb and sceptre, Henry’s heraldic symbols. The shrine was located at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor, and was a popular site for pilgrimage after Henry was put to death after the War of the Roses. People remembered his pious nature and viewed his death as martyrdom, and could view numerous relics of his at the shrine after his death until 1543 when the shrine was demanded due to the reformation. Still retaining its original backing pin to be worn (although not functional), this beautiful badge still retains incredible detail throughout the obverse.

Beautiful faience Ushabti dating to the Third Intermediate Period (1077 - 664 BCE) on Ancient Egypt. Stunning blue faience with lovely painted column detailing in dark manganese paint on both obverse and reverse. A lovely scale, with much of the detail remaining on the face and wig. Ushabti or “answerer” were votive objects placed in tombs in mortuary practice as figures as accompaniment into the afterlife, acting as servants for the deceased. An old repaired crack but structurally sound, displayed on a contemporary stand.

An incredible Etruscan bronze coiled armilla, coiled 10 times around, circa 5th - 3rd Century BCE, Central Italy, Etruria. A beautiful example, originally worn as a bracelet or around the upper arm, this example likely worn by a small female or child due to its scale. Beautifully crafted, incredible bronze, heavily encrusted with areas of corrosion. Displayed on contemporary acrylic stand.
