RUSTIC PINE CABINET "PERFECT FOR THE COTTAGE" ($175)

Located in Oshawa L1H 1L9

Solid honey pine 3 door cabinet, about 30 years old. Exhibits some minor blemishes consistent with age and use, overall showing very well. Left hand door opens to 4 fixed shelves which don't go all the way to the back. Two doors on the right side open to two fixed shelves. This was used as a media cabinet with neatly drilled holes for wires between compartments and in the bead board backing. Comes from a clean, smoke-free home.

Beautifully crafted circa 1950s solid maple buffet built by Krug Bros. in South Western Ontario in an era when furniture was made to last - had a tired and outdated finish rendering it a perfect restyling project for a crafty furniture refinisher. Can you say Farmhouse Buffet?! A dovetailed drawer running the length sits above cupboard doors opening to expansive storage with a fixed shelf within. Drawer opens and closes with effortless ease; both doors open easily and click shut crisply. Comes from a clean, smoke-free home.

Prep Work Done

It's been painstakingly stripped and sanded eliminating the preparation step, allowing you to get straight to refinishing. Would look fabulous with a stained top contrasted to a painted body.

ANTIQUE MAHOGANY SERPENTINE DRESSER "YOURS TO RESTYLE" ($175)

Early 1900s solid mahogany 6 drawer serpentine dresser on casters with beveled glass swing mirror - in perfect structural condition, yet has a worn out finish rendering it an ideal candidate for a refresh. Lots of possibilities on this one for someone creative. A mixture of paint and stain would really make a statement with some nice profit if done well. A drawer sits on the top left and right hand side flanking two smaller middle drawers, sitting atop two deep drawers with ample storage. Drawers are dovetailed all six opening and closing with ease. This would've been considered an extremely expensive piece of furniture back in the day in that all structural elements are 100% solid mahogany, including the top, side panels, drawer supports, drawer faces, bracket with legs, including the mirror frame and support assembly. The majority of fine furniture day was typically veneer over a wood substrate which was more affordable. Note the simple, yet lovely brass drawer pulls. The mirror shows a little bit of silvering, yet still quite clear despite its hundred plus years of reflection. Comes from a clean, smoke-free home.

Three drawers run along the top, sitting above a large middle cupboard with height adjustable shelf (3 positions) flanked by a cupboard on the left and right hand side, both with a height adjustable shelf within. Drawers are dovetailed all three opening and closing with effortless ease. All three doors open easily and click closed nicely. Comes from a clean, smoke-free home.

Four drawer mahogany dresser, built circa 1930s as a reproduction of the 19th Century Chippendale furniture style by the McLagan Furniture Co. of Strathroy, Ontario. They were considered one of the premier high-end furniture manufacturers of the day. In beautiful condition with no damage, yet has a tired and outdated finish, rendering it an ideal candidate for a makeover. Would look stunning with a natural stained top and drawer fronts. contrasted with a painted out body to give it a modern flare, yet with classic lines. Prep Work Done

To kickstart your project, the top surface has been sanded clean to prepare it for stain - 80 grit followed by 120 grit with a 6 speed orbital sander for control, then 150 grit with a sheet sander; a final sanding with 220 grit for a super smooth surface, ready for stain.

The body has been cleaned and degreased to prepare for a scuff sanding prior to painting. Additionally, cleaned inside and out, top to bottom.
