Hot off the workbench… Solid maple stools for our kitchen island.

These stools are made with ¾” solid maple legs compound cut to 5% angles. ¾” maple ply for the two internal supports/spacers. Seat swivels from Lee Valley sit on the top spacer. The seats are 1 ½” solid maple laminate industrial packing table top that are off cuts from our kitchen counter. The “bum profile” was carved by hand (tedious work). Finish is Osmo oil/wax (also at Lee Valley). (Shout out to Dave Shaw at The Northern Joinery for recommending Osmo.)

Seat height is approximately 25” (i.e. short) as our island is counter height (36”).

Still undecided about whether to add backs. We’re not sure if we want our guests to get too comfortable.

Client - "I need a place to store my grandchildren's books & toys"

An existing space along a wall extending from the kitchen turned out to be the perfect spot for such a cabinet!
Hinterland built two large lower cabinets with doors, including shelving, matching the style of the existing kitchen cabinetry.

The client wanted to use a gorgeous piece of live edged walnut to top the cabinet. We used Osmo oil wax to protect the perfect natural finish on the walnut. We used Advance cabinet paint for the cabinets and doors matching the existing kitchen.

The finished piece is a lovely addition to the client's open concept room!

My latest build. I used scrap ply from around the shop to build a chuck box for a road trip this summer.. NOT very pretty but it'll get the job done.

Another project done!
This local health care facility had a perfect spot for a coffee/snack hub for guests. We had a solution!
The finished product is a stained wood cabinet with shelving and drawers for storage, a coffee area, as well, a nook ready to receive a small refrigerator.
Great use of space in a large waiting area.

Do you have a corner of a room just waiting to be filled? waiting to serve a purpose!

This small bathroom had a whole corner waiting behind the door.
This beauty is built with maple and finished with Osmo oil wax, resistant to water and dirt, very durable and smooths wood surfaces, while leaving a gorgeous sheen!

The cupboard is 96" x 30", 16" deep; 4 drawers in bottom section on Blum undermount soft-close sliders. The top section behind 2 doors with soft close Blum hinges, holds 2 shelves.
This piece adds so much to the room and holds lots of 'stuff'.

Looking for a fresh storage/display cabinet?
Styled for your room, your space, your finish!

This wood cabinet with shaker style doors, was made to fit a certain space in a narrow room. The request was for a piece to accommodate much more than the TV, it needed to hide lots of necessary 'stuff'. This handmade beauty fit the bill!
The wood plank top and the finishing was prepared by the customer. We're easy to work with!
