I had the honour of helping a homeowner to transform their very basic main floor bathroom into a softly colored retreat. What started out as “just the vanity” soon turned into a full room renovation.

Last year I traveled to Mexico City with my husband and we did some exploring outside of the capital. From Tepoztlan we day tripped to Cuernavaca and came across this fascinating museum all about, well, basically living your best life! Robert Brady as you will see, was a maximalist well before his time and he showcased his impressive collection throughout his monastery home, which he donated to the city of Cuernavaca upon his death. Such a fascinating human and I can’t believe there hasn’t been a movie out on his life yet!

January is when many of us reset: we reorganize our homes and rethink our storage needs (or lack of) so the year ahead runs a little more smoothly.

This post tells the story of a small cabin bedroom that was transformed into a multifunctional storage space.

IKEA cabinets were used in the making of this new storage room; however, the modern doors were substituted with a more suitable beveled trim traditional style and then wrapped with architectural film in order to blend with the colors of the IKEA panels seamlessly.

Usually I equate Mexico with color and vibrancy, and that hasn’t changed, but today I came upon the beautiful on my holiday and wanted to share its simple beauty through architecture, neutrals and the small subtle details that make it a top notch beautiful resort, not to mention the beautiful landscape it sits upon. 🤍🤎🩵🌴🌊
