I have a hard time throwing away scraps of fabric. You might say I have a problem but this piece, although not centred, fit perfectly onto my lampshade. Well, not exactly perfectly, I needed to add something to the top and bottom so I painted a bit of Oxford Navy then added the green gimp. I think it is such a huge improvement!! This adds another layer and texture to my sideboard. Keep watching my feed for upcoming workshops!! Lampshades will never be left to their own devices again!! Paint them, decoupage them, just have fun with them however you can visualize!!

Many thanks to the Kitchener Waterloo Women of the Year awards. While I did not win our category I am eternally grateful for my second nomination in the Arts and Culture award. We have spent time with so many inspiring women and appreciate this evening for all that it stands for.

Yesterday I put an oil painting I did several years ago on my table. It is a painting of my neighbours cows. I love it but it just seems so fresh and I wanted it to look a bit more antique. I went over the oil paint with clear top coat sealer then I added Antiquing Glaze. I love how it turned out. It fits the vibe of our old house better than it did before. Now I have my eye on at least one more painting that I can instantly age. It also has me thinking about art that I find thrifting. You can easily add age to it using this method. Give it a try some time!! Happy long weekend!!

I could not love this fabric more. These Roman shades were the perfect way to dress the windows that didn’t leave room for a full drapery treatment. We used this fantastic stripe on the drapery panels. The channel rod allows you to push the drapes all to one side to make the door more accessible. So very happy with how everything looks. Many thanks to our client for their business.

Memories of “our best Fred”. We love our clients and this man was such a gem. He was a textile j***y much like me. He loved all things beautiful and this fabric was on the top of his list. He sadly passed a couple of years ago but I often comment that Fred would have loved this. Imagine my thrill when I found one of his pillows at our local thrift shortly after his passing. I have it proudly on my chaise, I know he would love that I found it. ❤️ thrift

I am so very honoured to have been nominated in The Arts and Culture Category. As a creative person it is quite something to be recognized in this way considering I have not always felt that my creativity was important and that things I struggled to learn held more significance in this world. Many thanks!! The event is May 21st and I would like to extend my congratulations to all of the women being recognized with a nomination in many categories.
