🐓 Pasture Raised Whole Chickens Available • Tuesday, May 12 - evening 🐓

We will have approximately 30 whole chickens available for pickup on Tuesday evening, May 12.

These birds are raised right here at Nanoose Creek Acres in small batches with a focus on quality, animal care, and sustainable farming practices. Our chickens spend their days outdoors on pasture with fresh air, space to roam, natural forage, and attentive daily care.

• Carefully and humanely processed
• No mass production practices
• Raised with quality feed and hands on care

Our birds this round are looking like they’ll be on the larger side, approximately 7 to 8 lbs each, though final weights will be confirmed after processing.

Pricing is $6.50/lb for fresh pickup on Tuesday evening.

Fresh pickup is ideal if you would like to portion or process your birds down yourself, which is what we personally do and highly recommend for freezer storage and meal prep.

Any remaining birds after pickup day will be frozen and available for purchase afterward while quantities last.

Bucky’s been here since the very beginning. He and his brother Max were our first “brush control team”… which they were never very good at.

We lost Max a few years ago, but Bucky’s still going strong almost 10 years later, breaking fences, wandering wherever he wants, and stopping by for scratches like he owns the place.

Some animals just become part of the land, and he’s one of them.

Summer wardrobe change, farm edition ✂️

Everyone got shorn yesterday ewes and our ram included. It’s all about keeping them cool and comfortable heading into the warmer months.

Then in winter, we “crutch” the ewes just underneath so lambing season runs smoother and the babies can find what they need without the extra wool in the way.

A quiet little reminder of how special this land really is 🤍

This is a wild Western Trillium, one of the coast’s most delicate spring blooms. It can take years for a single plant to flower, emerging briefly each season before returning to the forest floor.

Because of how slow and sensitive they are, picking one doesn’t just take the bloom. It can set the plant back for years.

So we leave them exactly where they belong. Undisturbed, thriving, and part of the natural rhythm of this place.

If you happen to spot one during your stay, it’s a quiet sign you’ve found something rare. A healthy, protected pocket of forest that’s meant to be experienced, not taken.
