PSAC - UNDE Local 40807 workers are on strike. They work at 15 Wing for Sodexo (an outside contractor)as maintenance and food provision staff. They want their employer to get back to the bargaining table and negotiate a fair collective agreement. Please support them and join them if you can. A touching Day of Mourning Ceremony was held tonight to commemorate workers who died as a result of their work. 75 or more workers gathered (thanks to many SFL/CLC Spring School participants and facilitators for joining us) to honour those lost and to remind ourselves to fight like hell for the living.

The Moose Jaw & District Labour Council deeply mourn the loss of Sister Wanda Bartlett, who passed away yesterday. Wanda was President of the Weyburn and District Labour Council and served her community and the labour movement in so many ways. She was President of RWDSU Sask. Joint Board, her own Local, part of Canadian Labour Congress - Prairie Region and the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour. That’s not to mention her political dedication to both the Federal and Provincial NDP. She was well known and well-loved and will be so missed. Our condolences to Wanda’s family, friends and her Union Family. Rest in Power and Peace our dear Sister.
