Resort fees, housekeeping gratuities, minibar restocking, and parking. None of it is in the quote, and all of it is on the card by the time a month is out.

Furnished stays of a month or more are also commonly exempt from the tax a hotel still charges, which the quote never shows either.

Next time you are comparing options for a long stay, ask both providers for the fully loaded figure. The ranking usually changes.
