Yesterday we took part in our annual Earth Day clean-up 🌎

We’re so grateful for the generosity of our ReStore donors, it’s what makes our work possible. But like many non-profit thrift stores, we face an ongoing and frustrating challenge: after-hours dumping.

Items left outside our donation dock, from full donation boxes, appliances, furniture, are often damaged by weather, scattered across our parking lot, and ultimately become waste.

The hard truth? Habitat ReStore has to pay to dispose of these items. That’s money taken directly away from building affordable homes for local families.

So next time you’re thinking of dropping off a donation after hours, please remember the impact. It affects our environment, our community, and the families we’re working hard to support.

Instead, help us make the most of your generosity by dropping off donations during opening hours - we're open Monday to Saturday, 9am–6pm! You’ll keep items out of landfill and receive a $5 off coupon as a thank you 💚
