Hoping for feedback!

I have a 1950s drop leaf walnut table and 4 chairs that I'd like to give a makeover. I'm inspired by the dark, luxe, maximalist trend right now: think dark wood, velvet upholstery, gold and brass embellishments... and I feel like this set would be a great option for the smaller, older homes that are common in the Okanagan or an apartment.

But! I'm not sure if it's worth my time refurbishing a dining set. Dressers and buffet hutches sell, but I've never tried selling a dining set.

I would need to get about $400 to make it worthwhile.

Any thoughts or ideas? I feel like folks are moving away from griege and pale nuetrals lately and choosing colour and rich finishes but maybe not?

All done and ready for a new beginning! 1975 six drawer laminate dresser by Victoriaville in custom colour: a deep base of Cast Iron with rich Manor Green and Chestler blue undertones using Fusion Mineral Paint. Completely refurbished, I had to strip it right back as it had been refinished before, but not very well. This sturdy dresser needed a lot of love, but it was worth it to see it shine anew. Fresh vintage inspired drawer liners and new felt pads were installed because those little final touches matter so much.

I'm thinking about working on this 1975 Victoriaville six drawer dresser next. It's been refinished before, but pretty roughly! I've got a feeling this makeover is going to take a considerable amount of effort.
