Very thankful for the opportunity to design and build this batch of custom walnut furniture.
-4’x10’ locally sourced live edge walnut dining table with 6”x2” steel legs custom fabricated and powdercoated matte black.
-solid 2.5” thick jigsaw walnut coffee table with handmade polished brass bow ties and flat steel legs powdercoated matte black.
-custom solid walnut hand carved mirror frames with 5mm mirror and oil finish.
-complimentary walnut cutting board as a housewarming/thank you.
All table finishes are food safe and hand applied. All woodwork and steel fabrication done in house .rempel

Milled in house from 100% reclaimed fir beams from downtown Kelowna wartime homes, we installed this custom bookcase today. Built with real birch bark panels in the shaker doors, willow branch shelf faces/handles and custom library ladder… this was a fun one! I’m very proud of this build and all of its challenges. Bring on the next custom piece!
Designed by .a.smith_interiors and relocated existing switch and pot lights into cabinet.

It’s been a minute, but we’ve been busy… this front entry is definitely making a statement, especially at night! We removed the existing traditional staircase and walls last February. We ran into structural issues that somehow passed city inspection when built. We removed the beam that had been hacked by the original plumber and hvac hacks and replaced with new. Along the way we accomplished many other parts to this whole house renovation- leaving finished treads off to save any headaches with temporary railings/damage etc etc. Long story short, we’re finally at this stage and it feels amazing!!

2021 was a difficult year for many reasons, but we made it through. I’ve been a carpenter all my life, I was the youngest apprentice in level one at 18 and completed my red seal four years later. I’ve mainly worked in residential doing projects from start to finish but I’ve also been in commercial and industrial. Nothing has inspired me more than when I get to be creative and combine my years of experience designing and building custom pieces (house or furniture). I recently visited old clients and remembered my inspiration.
This tractor bar table was one of many pieces created along the way (along with and .a.smith_interiors ) and I just love looking back to remind myself of the motivation, and reason why I’m doing what I’m doing.
Moving ahead into 2022, looking forward to what lies ahead. Thanks to everyone who’s supported me along the way👍🏿
