a detailed architectural top-down floor plan for a kitchen and pantry layout, including specific measurements for cabinetry, walkways, and appliances.
The design emphasizes a spacious, open-concept flow with a central island and a large walk-in pantry.
1. KITCHEN LAYOUT & WORK ZONES
The kitchen follows a modified "L-shape" with a large central island, creating multiple work zones:
• The Main Counter: Located at the top of the image, featuring a double-bowl sink under what would likely be a window. It measures 8'-0" in total length.
• The Cooking Zone: To the left of the sink, there is a built-in cooktop with four burners. The counter depth here is marked as 2'-0".
• The Island: A massive 8'-0" long central unit. It includes a built-in Microwave and a seating area with three stools.
• Refrigeration: Located at the bottom right, featuring a split setup with a 36" Refrigerator and a 30" Freezer.
2. STORAGE & WALK-IN PANTRY
The plan highlights significant storage space:
• Walk-in Pantry: A large dedicated room on the left measuring 9'-3" deep and 5'-0" wide. It features U-shaped shelving for maximum storage.
• Cupboard Unit: A secondary storage area at the bottom left, measuring 10'-0" in length. This could serve as a coffee bar, sideboard, or additional dish storage.
3. TRAFFIC FLOW & CLEARANCES
The dimensions provided are critical for ensuring the kitchen doesn't feel cramped:
• Island Clearances: There is a consistent 4'-0" gap between the island and the main sink counter, and another 4'-0" gap between the island and the cooktop counter. This allows two people to work back-to-back comfortably.
• Main Walkway: The central path through the kitchen is roughly 4'-3" to 4'-5" wide, providing ample room for traffic moving toward the refrigeration area.
• Pantry Entry: The entrance area near the pantry is 4'-10" wide, ensuring the door has plenty of swing room.
