Please be advised that we are currently transitioning away from providing sewing services within the Guelph and surrounding areas…

It was an absolute pleasure and delight to be able to work with so many wonderful clients over the years on so many various types of sewing projects! I expect we may have helped to divert a great amount of clothing from landfills by repairing articles or replacing damaged components, and that makes me very pleased to think about!

Our future endeavour will prove to be very time-and-energy-consuming, and it is with regret that we will be unable to continue offering pick-up and drop-off sewing services during the undertaking of developing a new business up North.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped support our business over the years, and to the many individuals who opted to repair rather than replace garments or other household items!

WE ARE MOVING!!!

There has been a great amount of sudden change and upheaval in most of our lives and in our methods of basic operation over the last year...

Many special events and weddings were cancelled, or held in less formal and less attended capacities. Whenever things “opened up,” clothing alterations and custom sewing continued to fall on some unknown side of a blurry line in terms of whether required pinnings/etc were fully permitted by the Province’s COVID-related orders and restrictions...

We have been able to offer very limited sewing services by way of curb side pick-up and drop-off at this location since September 2019, but not being able to see clients - to catch up and converse even if briefly - it’s been quite a loss...

I have so enjoyed the many countless conversations with so many various individuals over the many (13!) years I’ve been in full-time operation of this business. I had the pleasure of developing a great rapport with and getting to know most of my clients in more than a simple pant-hemming capacity.

Many of those clients may already know that for many years, my family and I were hoping to find a parcel of land somewhere where we could enjoy more quiet and natural settings, and this year, we have managed to do just that!

Once we relocate to our new home out-of-town in July, we will be routinely returning to Guelph, and can arrange in advance to provide convenient pick-up services at your location for sewing projects, providing a drop-off of the completed items two or more weeks later.

We look forward to continuing to offer sewing services to our lovely neighbours in Guelph, particularly those which aid in prolonging the life of articles and those which utilize preexisting and/or second-hand materials, diverting unnecessary waste from our landfills.️ ❤

Thank you so much to every single person who has supported this business over the many years - you have all contributed directly to my ability to be able to be very present with my children and to help find a balance of work-life that afforded me the flexibility needed to volunteer with so many wonderful organizations that serve to help make this City as great (and green) as it is.

Wishing (as we all are, I’m sure) for brighter days not far ahead which will hopefully be less fearful and more familiar!

And now, Phase One of Ontario's Reopening Plan has begun, and after inquiring with the Stop the Spread Business Information Line, I am happy to report that we are now permitted to provide in-person consultations and pinnings again!

Appointments will continue to be required to be booked in advance, capacity will be limited to one client at a time, hand-sanitizer will be provided, and masks will continue to be mandatory during appointments.

Please choose Repairing over replacing whenever possible. ❤️

Please choose Repairing over replacing whenever possible. ❤️

It can be hard to find a pair of jeans that fit you perfectly, so let’s try to hold on to them for as long as possible! We can look good & save water too! 💙

Please be advised our capacity will be limited until July 15th. Emails and phone calls will be returned as frequently as possible during this time - your patience is greatly appreciated while we relocate! :)

Projects involving repurposing or “upcycling” of unused or damaged items has been one of my passions for many, many years now... But when those unused items belonged to an individual who has passed on, leaving behind such items to loved ones, I am not just eager but absolutely honoured to be able to assist in creating lasting items which will hold such strong significance for family members and friends of those who have departed.

This hockey jersey has now become three pillows to be thoughtfully gifted by the creative individual who requested my assistance with this project.

Extra care and thoughts go out to all this upcoming Holiday Season, and especially to those who are celebrating for the first time or again without a missed loved one. ❤️

What an interesting and challenging year this has been! We would like to thank everyone so much for their understanding during the first provincial closure and for their patient patronage after our cautious reopening! We were hoping to take a brief break for the Holidays, returning to regular business hours on January 4th, but this new provincial closure has changed our plans, as it will have for many others... We will keep an eye on the provincial policies as this lockdown nears its expiry, and will reopen for masked, in-person appointments when it is safe to do so again. In the mean time, we wish everyone an extra safe and Happy Holiday Season! Best wishes for a Happy New Year! 💥🍷🎩

03/27/2020

Due to the nature of the majority of our work requiring close proximity while pinning garments/etc, we will be unable to provide traditional repair, alteration and custom sewing services while adequately observing social distancing.

Wishing everyone and their family and friends good health in both body and mind during this unprecedented time! ❤️
