🌱 Did you know? Property owners are responsible for maintaining the boulevard, ditch, and sidewalk adjacent to their property.

This includes cutting grass, weeds, and other vegetation along the boulevard, and maintaining ditches up to 600 mm (1.97 ft) deep.

Town crews focus on clearing select areas to maintain visibility at intersections and road signs, support trail accessibility, and prepare ditches for maintenance work when needed.

Regular upkeep helps keep our community safe, tidy, and looking its best. Thank you for doing your part to help keep the water flowing and Gibsons beautiful! 🌿

This week marks National AccessAbility Week, celebrating the efforts across Canada to build a stronger, more accessible country for everyone.

The Town of Gibsons is committed to creating a community where all residents can participate, regardless of ability. This includes ongoing improvements to Town spaces, services, and programs that help remove barriers and support meaningful inclusion.

In partnership with the District of Sechelt and the Sunshine Coast Regional District, we’ve developed the Sunshine Coast Regional Accessibility Plan, aligned with the Accessible BC Act. This plan reflects our shared commitment to accessibility and continuous improvement.

What an amazing turnout for the Persephone ribbon-cutting and Molly's Reach 100th anniversary celebration this weekend!

It was truly heartwarming to see so many people come together to celebrate two iconic pieces of The Beachcombers' legacy. From the official unveiling of the beautifully restored Persephone to the festivities marking a century of Molly's Reach, the day was filled with community spirit, memories, and appreciation for the stories that have helped shape Gibsons.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate, to the volunteers and organizers who made the day possible, and to all those who contributed to the restoration of the Persephone. Seeing the vessel back in Lower Gibsons, where it belongs, was a special moment for our community.

Thousands of census employees across the country are helping collect data that are vital to improving the lives of Canadians. These are your family, friends or neighbours making a difference for your community.

If you haven't completed your questionnaire yet and we follow up with you, here’s how to recognize official census communications:

📩 Reminder letters will be sent by mail or delivered in person, which will contain a secure access code to complete the census questionnaire online.

🪪 In person follow-ups will be conducted by employees with an identification card.

📱 Text message reminders may also be sent from the text message short code number 236732.

📞 If a follow-up phone call to a household is needed, the census employees will identify themselves clearly.
