As a pet owner who has lost their best friend before, this one really hit me in the feels 💙

Our client, Mel, challenged us with creating a life size memorial tribute of her fur baby, Kalvin, who suddenly passed away a few weeks ago.

We were supplied a photo of Kal, sitting in his favourite place in their family garden, and this tribute will now do the same. This life size photo engraved piece has been weather protected, as were the wooden stakes which will keep Kalvin securely anchored and upright in his spot in the garden, and should last through the seasons while the Family deals with their loss.

Thank You for challenging us to attempt this project Mel and I truly hope this piece helps your family with their healing process.

On a personal level, it really felt like we had a 4th dog here for a while. Our dogs all growled at Kal when they first met him, but pretty soon, he was one of our pack...plus he didn't shed or eat too much 🙂. We miss him already now that he's been picked up, which means losing the real version must have been about 1,000 times more difficult 💔

Spent the day fixing my laser exhaust...then...in total me fashion...I threw out my back putting it back into my shop...

I'm now officially on the couch, in my pj's, showered, medicated and on my heated back massager. Getting older when you're an active fella is literally the worst 🤣

Hopefully the laser and I will be more productive tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞

Yesterday we posted that we'll be stepping back a bit from Full Time SPP as we're going to be renovating our kitchen. I'll be tackling this project alone with my 70+ year old Father-In-Law and periodically with my brother when he's done work for the day...so this job is going to take a bit.

That being said, I'll still be taking on finishing your orders when I can, but you might also see a lot of unsolicited builds over the next little bit, like this Highland Cow, as this is something that I can just build on the go. No need to go back and forth on design concepts with the client, building to match specific needs, waiting on hearing back from anyone. A piece like this I can just build at night and let this canvas engrave for 11 hours while I work inside on my home.

These pieces, if not purchased directly, will be featured as prizes on our page SPP Elimination Wheels, so make sure you're following it so you don't miss out.

Thanks again for your patience, this is unfortunately what happens when you're a one man business and your wife has been asking for her dream kitchen for 8+ years 💙

Well...you thought we took a long time to complete orders before 🤣

We're about to start one of our largest builds ever here at SPP (and probably Lady SPP's most anticipated)...our Kitchen.

I'll apologize now for all the delays those of you with orders placed will face but I'll attempt to keep busy in the shop while I also tackle this home renovation with just my Father-In-Law and periodically with my brother, Jason...and we ain't fast 🤣

This will be a complete makeover, so I'm guessing I'll be moving to "part-time" at SPP for the next month as we attempt to give the extremely deserving Lady SPP the dream kitchen she deserves.

This is also why we don't take deposits for our work...cause if you don't want to wait for your piece (we'll totally understand) then you're more than welcome to find someone else to crush that out for ya asap 💙
....and I thought I was tired on Thursday....

I know a lot of people are waiting for things, including our LIVE Elimination Wheel Spin...but I'm soooo tired 🤣

Between having to stay up with Tiggy from 2am-6am last night because he doesn't do Thunderstorms, then dealing with our broken sump pump and flooded basement, then Canada 🇨🇦 played their 2nd game of the World Cup...I seriously need a time out 🙂

I was able to put together an unsolicited canvas tonight during the soccer game and it's going to run for the next 11+ hours and in that time, I'll zone out, then plan and prep our next few orders tomorrow...but for now...I chill 💙

Well...now I'm not so upset that Lady SPP purchases about 3 pails per yer at the Minor Bros Country Living Pail Sale...cause they're coming in handy today! 🤣🤣🤣

Just a quick note to say that I'm here today, but I won't be in the shop for a bit as I'll be working on my new 'swimming pool' in the basement. Luckily it stopped raining before things got too crazy, but lots of rain on the forecast, so I need to install my new sump pump pronto.
