I was honoured to meet and visit with this gentleman today and discuss wood carving and culture.
Alver Tait, from Northern British Columbia , is a hereditary Chief of the Eagle–Beaver Clan (Laxsgiik) of the Nisga’a people, as well as a master wood carver and cultural ambassador.
He is well known for his Totem poles as well as canoe and mask carvings.
