You can have the right tools, accurate measurements and a solid plan, but the wood you begin with still shapes everything that follows.

The grain affects the visual flow. The thickness affects what the board can become. The width influences the number of joins. The natural character determines which face deserves to be seen.

Wood nerds, this one has history built into the grain.

Before barbed wire became the standard, Osage orange trees were planted as natural fences to help keep cattle in and unwanted visitors out.

And yes, it’s just as bold in the shop as it sounds.

Bright orange.
Crazy vibrant.
Perfect for inlays.
Similar to yellow heart, but with a little more attitude.
