Well after taking a little bit of a temporary break from creating content, following the birth of my 2nd son, OVEL Woodworking is back in action! Lots of fun projects in the hopper with a big one in the final stages of planning. Stay tuned for more content!

Though I haven’t been able to spend much time building lately, I was finally able to get my first set of build plans created and posted on my new Etsy store!

THANK YOU! I have been blown away with the support you all have shown toward my pursuit of content creation and the launch of my YouTube channel.

Since I’m just getting started on YouTube (as you can clearly tell based on my first video 🤣), I tried to set a few realistic goals for the channel for my first year.

In addition to focusing on tackling interesting builds and putting out quality content, for 2024, one goal of mine was to hopefully reach a total of 100 subscribers. I had no idea if this was realistic or not, but after only about 24 hrs since my first video dropped I’m already over 1/4 of the way there!

Thanks you all so much for the support, it definitely helps fuel the drive to do more, and continue to focus on putting out even better content.

Kicking off this account with a throwback to 2013 and one of my first "real" woodworking projects.

At the time, we were bright-eyed, first time homeowners looking to make meaningful updates to our home on a very tight budget.

One of our first projects was to rip out our builder grade entryway closet and replace it with a built in storage bench.

Having minimal tools, no shop, and very little experience, it seemed like I was biting off a lot more than I could chew (because I was!) but I was eager to learn and develop my skills.

I learned MANY lessons along the way and made many mistakes, but it was a fantastic experience and in the end it turned out great. I definitely got bit by the bug completing this project and woodworking has become a passion of mine ever since!
