We have been so busy between work life and home life and renovations!! I just realized I haven’t shared any progress of the cottage kitchen . So here is a little before and after. Mr.SLF has installed this new kitchen . There was a lot that went on behind the scenes , plumbing, drywall etc. I love the white cabinets with the wood floor. I got beautiful marble countertops from Blackbird Stone and Tile. Let’s just say I’m obsessed.
Im also in love with my old lights I have been saving for years and the new hood vent he made me. Looks better now it’s painted. But that bottom piece of wood is salvage from my friends farm. Quite a difference from the real estate listing here. It’s all coming together.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted here since the beginning of the year. I used to have my FB & IG connected. Not sure why it’s not hooked up anymore.
I have what seems to be a thousand projects on the go. I finally got my beautiful chandelier moved and centred. What difference it makes !
I am working on upholstering the chairs . Halfway done , they’re so much work it’s crazy all because I changed my mind . I’m hoping to have them finished by the time I pick up my new table. I’m loving the florals and checks and linen together. Yellow is not a colour I normally use but it is making me so happy. I even picked up that old painted bowl with the yellow .

I’ve had such a good couple of days collecting some dreamy pieces . When my friend messaged asking if I would like this antique pie safe and Babcock basket I couldn’t resist. The colour, the hardware and that punched tin are just so perfect!! Now to find where I’m going to put it .

This doesn’t happen often but I had done this cabinet for a client and it didn’t work out in the space . I just love this chippy milk painted cabinet . It’s now available for a new home .

We finally finished our little powder room renovation and I couldn’t be happier!! It feels like Christmas came early. I almost went with wallpaper but I love shiplap and couldn’t resist cladding the whole room . Mr.SLF did his first tiling job and I think he did amazing!! They’re now appropriate for this size room . My parents mirror which was always in my life at the front door . We saved the original sink from the previous owners who were going to dump it . We still have some tweaking to do but I just love it .

I still can’t seem to connect my FB & IG together. I shared on my IG on the weekend but I have lots of followers who aren’t on it . So I wanted to put up the goodies I found . I literally couldn’t believe my eyes finding a Santos doll on my village streets !! And then all these other goodies . It was my lucky day that’s for sure . But it didn’t stop there I was fortunate to meet this like minded soul . She’s so lovely and inspiring!! She toured me through her Italianate. Which I loved our houses look pretty similar. There was just so much to take in . It helps bring me back to what I truly love . Just so happy that happened 🥰

I don’t know why I can’t get my IG to share with this account but I realize my fb friends haven’t seen much of what we have been up to . But we have been working on the summer porch . A lot of people thought we shouldn’t tear down the ceiling. But I’m so happy we did there’s so much space up there and the room feels amazing now . The air is so much better and has now made it an actual useable space. It did help that Mr .SLF got another window open too and made a screen . I can’t get over that they have them all painted shut !!
We’re almost finished the construction in here and soon I will get to paint and make it pretty .

I went on a bit of a pick with my neighbour this weekend and ended up with goodies . I took a before with all the add ones to the cabinet and I knew when I saw it that it needed me lol . I stripped it back but added the porcelain handle . I just love it and all my other goodies . I am starting to feel inspired again . I love how this works in the room and feel super happy . But I have too many cabinets now so good news time for me to get back to work !!

I have few complaints about old houses because I love them so much . But the one thing this house doesn’t have is a closet on the main level !! So frustrating and very hard to stay organized without one lol . So we finally moved some cabinets around and I brought the antique wardrobe here . We always come in from the back so it made sense to have something between the entrances . But it is too much wood for me !! Now I’ve had this 19th century cabinet for a decade and never painted it but I’m thinking about it . The table could definitely be painted and the salvage fireplace isn’t safe right now either . As soon as we move this chandelier back to Center the walls are getting it too . But I might have to sleep on the fireplace the wood was from a friends farm that was built in 1820 . Which ones do you think I should paint ?

I’m finally starting to feel a little inspired . I’ve been moving furniture around . I originally had my green European bench there and I loved it but it covered the vent . Mr.SLF constantly pulled it away from the wall . I couldn’t live like that lol . I put my French bench there and an old sideboard and a little lamp that will give me a cozy factor tonight . I’m not sure I’ll keep the pedestal it’s my grandfather’s but I’ll use it somewhere else . But yay for finally starting.
Now I’m ready to start the work on the stairs . I’m going to strip the treads I think . And I’m torn if I should just paint or should I wallpaper here ??

When I was walking the beach the other day I found a spoon and of course some glass. But as I was walking back I found a piece of glass embedded in a rock . I picked up another rock and tried but it wasn’t working. I then realized I had been given a spoon . I started scraping away around the glass and it popped out ! How fortunate to be given that spoon .
Finding these pieces of glass has become my new obsession. I love thinking about where they came from and what it was used for and what time period it came from . It’s kind of comparable for me with antiques that there’s a thrill of the hunt and you don’t know what you’re going to find !!! Like the pieces of black glass which is very rare and came from the 1700’s and I found a piece . I was so impressed with that until the other day when I found the snail fossil . Omg guys this is millions of years old and it’s gorgeous. He’s in the pictures and there’s a half snail one I found . I just want to find more and have a collection lol . I would say that in the last couple of months I have found some pretty neat things . Like that piece of silver and I think the piece beside that is an old iron key . Don’t even get me started that there’s jadeite and that wood burl that’s now a bowl. What’s your favourite colours and have you ever found anything beach combing that’s awesome?
