After spending decades painting furniture, exploring and experimenting with new techniques (and failing at a few along the way), I decided it was time to turn my passion into something a little more full time. My basement was tr
ansformed into a paint shop, the garage into a furniture ER, and when I wasn't fixing, stripping, sanding, painting or waxing the many, many pieces I have waiting, you'd find me seeking out the next piece just waiting to have it's true beauty brought out. The business grew and we found ourselves needing more space. Recently, we moved to a new location as the basement just wasn't cutting it -- my new shop is located in the beautiful Shelter Valley in north Grafton and will eventually have a retail location for customers to visit! About 95% of the pieces I reinvent are antiques (or on their way to being antique) and are real, honest-to-goodness wood-- the way furniture should be built. Mature, strong, and full of character. Yes, furniture has character. Each piece has a history, a story to tell. Now, I won't go as far to say that furniture has a soul, but I will admit that, yeah, I felt sorry for the lamp in the IKEA commercial. All of the pieces I create are painted with a custom blend of paint that has a beautiful, velvety finish with a chalk-like appearance, which retains the features and lines of timeless furniture, but gives them an updated look. Only quality paints are used, and the colours have been chosen for their old-world feel, yet modern versatility. Feel free to check out some of the pieces I currently have available for sale. Sneak peeks will be provided as inventory grows. All items are ready to be picked up, or delivery can be arranged, depending on location. Shipping via third party can also be arranged, but fair warning, rates may be high due to the size and weight of the pieces. We do custom finishing too!
