And here it is the reveal of my submission for the Scroll Saw Challenge!
When this years theme was announced I was excited and I had ideas right away, too many ideas. I couldn’t narrow it down. Working in an elementary school this year had children’s books on my mind and then I thought back to my elementary days. In grade five I had a teacher that loved to craft and taught us how to make pop up books. I loved it! So I knew my entry would need to be a pop up book but what would the theme of the book be? What would the book be about? Inspired by a page out of a Coco Wyo colouring book I started to think about my own journey into woodworking. Out of curiosity I turned to ChatGPT and asked it to make me a children’s story with the details of my journey, which I shared yesterday. Once I read the story I knew this was what it had to be. My story was my theme.
This was a lot of trial and error, figuring it out as I went, and trusting the design would come as I worked, but I am certainly proud of how it turned out.
