CWC has commissioned a project a little outside the box of what normally happens around here.
The Fossmobile was Canada’s first internal combustion, gasoline engine automobile. Manufactured by George Foote Foss in 1897 in Sherbrooke Quebec. Only one Fossmobile is known to have existed.
CWC will restore an antique wooden car body and create a new seat out of both old and new components. The engine cowl will be produced from a combination of wood and tin.

The tribute vehicle is being funded and organized by the Grandson of George Foote Foss and will end up in a Canadian Museum.

Finished Door is stained with an Aniline Dye and top coated with spar urethane. The aniline dye is a wonderful stain for quarter cut oak as its depth of color and transparency are second to none.

Recent work update: This shaped top storm door is made of Quarter Cut White Oak. It has two frames that interchange without the use of tools. Just spin the turn buckles, lift out the screen frame and stand in the glass frame. The frames are set in using reverse rabbit's in order to prevent high winds and driving rain from getting around the glass frame to the interior. The Quarter cut grain provide extreme stability and the beautiful Medullar ray grain noted with white oak. Expensive yes but you will never have to buy another one.
