Another big elm board out the door. Really happy with the way these inlays came out, and particularly love the colour combo of black, dark brown, and the lighter shades in the elm.

Monster serving board is a wrap. This is a 30” diameter, 1.75” thick board made from a single slab of Elm and coming in at around 30lbs. While the construction of this piece was simple, the challenge was really the rehab and meticulous care that went into the wood. Hours of cleaning knot holes and cracks, endless filling in of gaps and voids, finding the optimal layout around the grain, choosing what elements to highlight, hand-cutting inlays with varying degrees of success, trying half a dozen handle designs, and of course lots and lots of slow, dull, holy-sh*t-will-this ever-end sanding. The smile on my face says it all. Proud of this one.

Beautiful shots by of this live edge walnut bench I made a few months back. The centre is white epoxy with black swirls to create a marble effect. Really love this piece and thrilled it finally got the photoshoot it deserves.

Orion Coffee Table in the books. Had an idea for an all black live edge table…but it was just too monotone to go with. Needed something to elevate it. Wanted to do some brass inlays, but wasn’t sure what…then while out on a walk with my dog one night, I looked up and thought it would be cool to create a sky effect against the black top. So I eventually decided to take one of the more well-known constellations—Orion—and transpose it by hand onto the top. I’ll admit, this table doesn’t have mass appeal…it’s got some aggressive angles and is of course totally black. But I wanted to create something I’ve never seen before, and I’m really happy with how this turned out. Could see myself making a few more of these. Feel free to let me know what you think.
