Pysanky is the art of using beeswax and dye to create a written story on an egg shell. Of course the art form has evolved over time and changed. Today with different types of dye, homemade and aniline, design and colour combinations are endless. The only thing to limit you in this is your own imagination. Most designs come from what I see from my everyday. Patterns and colour combinations are alwa
ys popping into view and I love experimenting with different designs. Lots of mistakes are made but when you get it right, it's just so pretty. I also love being able to have the egg mean something special. Since pysanky comes from the Ukrainian verb pysaty, meaning "to write". Each egg is a written message. Messages of love, hope, desire and well-being are wonderful when given to someone who is important to you. I love making eggs and I love sharing this art with others as well. Feel free to message me any time, I enjoy hearing from people!
