Documenting repeatable processes is one of the highest-leverage activities you can do for your business. When you capture how a task is actually performed—step by step—you reduce errors, shorten onboarding, and create capacity to scale. Start by choosing one core process that impacts revenue or customer experience (examples: onboarding a new client, fulfilling an order, or managing refunds). Break it into clear steps, note who is responsible for each step, record typical timelines and decision points, and include the exceptions people should watch for. Once written, test the process with a teammate, collect feedback, and refine until it’s reliable. Finally, identify which parts can be automated or delegated, and create a short checklist or template to make ex*****on consistent every time. Investing time now to document one process will free hours every week and improve consistency across your operations.
Which process will you document first? Share the process name below and I’ll suggest a simple 5-step template you can use.
